    With the development of seedling industry, shipping and storage of vegetable seedlings becomes
    an essential part of seedling production.Seedling quality before shipping,management and control level during
    storage are the 2 important factors influencing seedling quality after shipping and storage.This paper summarized
    the present studies on keeping good commercial seedlings during storage and transportation from the following 2
    aspects:the cultivation and management techniques of strong seedling before shipping,and the management and
    control techniques during storage.The paper also analyzed the existing problems in storage and transportation of
    vegetable seedlings.

    As a high yielding and high efficient cultivation method,substrate culture also has some
    shortcomings such as physiological disorder,yield decline and quality losses,causes by salt accumulation in
    rhizosphere.This paper made a comprehensive analysis on the factors causing salt accumulation in rhizosphere in
    substrate culture,including environment,nutrient solution,properties of nutrient ions and substrate types,etc.
    This paper also prospected the future research orientation.

    In order to investigate the suitable substrate water content in the hardening period during storage
    and transportation of pepper(Capsicum annuum L. ) seedlings,this experiment studied the effects of relative
    water contents in different substrates( 25%-35%,40%-50%,55%-65% and 70%-80%) in the hardening
    period on the change rule of main morphological and physiological indices of pepper seedlings under different
    storage time periods( 0,2,4,6 d),and the recovery ability of pepper seedlings after transplanting.The results
    show that for short term( 2 d) storage,the appropriate relative water contents of substrate for seedlings during
    hardening period has a wide range( 40%-80%).For medium-term( 4 d) and long-term( 6 d) storage,the
    suitable relative water content in substrate should be controlled between 70% to 80% during the hardening period
    .The results of correlation and path analyses suggest that the single index suitable for evaluating pepper seedling
    quality during storage and transportation is leaf integrity index,while the composite index is the stem diameter +
    2.723 leaf chlorophyll content -1.235 root dry weight.

    Taking field trial,during July to August,we used catch wheat,lime nitrogen degassing and
    straw reactor landfill treatments to study their effects on cucumber(Cucumis sativus L. ) growth,yield and root
    zoon urease,alkaline phosphatase,sucrase and catalase activities in 6 years and 8 years continuous cropping in
    greenhouse. The result indicated that compairing with the conventional fallow contrast,each treatment had played
    certain promoting effect on cucumber growth,catch wheat and lime nitrogen degassing had more obvious effect.
    Catch wheat could significantly increase the activities of soil urease,sucrase and catalase. Lime nitrogen degassing
    and straw reactor landfill treatments could increase the activities of soil sucrase and catalase,while suppress the
    soil urease and alkaline phosphatase activities at the same time. Planting wheat during fallowing season in summer
    can easily improve soil fertility with ideal effect.

    Abstract:Light emitting diode(LED)was applied to accurately modulate light spectral energy distribution.
    The effects of light quality and photoperiod on the growth,total phenolics content and DPPH scavenging activity of
    soybean(Glycine max)sprouts were studied.The results of light quality test indicated that hypocotyl length and
    edible rate were significantly decreased by UV-B,which was favorable for water accumulation in plant.Every
    light treatment significantly increased the content of total phenolics in hypocotyls.The total phenolics content
    reached the max under UV-B treatment,and was much higher than that in the darkness and other light treatment.
    Under UV-B treatment,the DPPH scavenging activity in hypocotyls and cotyledon of soybean sprouts reached
    the max,and was significantly higher than that of the darkness.The photoperiod test showed that the root length
    reached the max and the hypocotyl length reached the min when the photoperiod was 8 h·d-1 under UV-B.The
    total phenolics content and DPPH scavenging activity were significantly decreased by 8 h·d-1,12 h·d-1 UV-B
    treatment,and were much higher than that in the darkness and other light treatment.Overall,8 h·d-1 UV-B
    treatment was more beneficial for the the total phenolics content and the DPPH scavenging activity of soybean
    sprouts.

    In order to select the best combination of arbuscular mycorrhizal(AM) fungi and plant growthpromoting
    rhizobacteria(PGPR) for cucumber( Cucumis sativus)to resist low-temperature damages,we
    studied the effects of different combinations on growth and defense enzymes in greenhouse under low temperature
    stress conditions. The results showed that the growth of cucumber and SOD,POD,CAT activities were higher
    than that of the non-vaccinated control,while MDA content was significantly lower than that of the controls,
    when inoculation with AM fungi or PGPR under low temperature treatments. Between the AM fungi inoculation
    treatments,Glomus versiforme had better positive effect on growth,defensive enzyme activities,and decreased
    the cell membrane damage. Between the PGPR inoculation treatments,Paenibacillus polymyxa had better growth
    and higher defensive enzyme activities,with less cell membrane damage. Among the inoculation treatments with
    AM fungi and PGPR ,inoculation treatment with both Glomus versiforme and Paenibacillas polymyxa had the
    best growth,highest defensive enzyme activities,minimum cell membrane damage. Hence,we would suggest
    to add this combination in greenhouse cucumber production to promote cucumber growth and improve plant cold
    resistance.

    Effects of inoculation of arbuscular mycorrihizal fungi Glomus mosseae(GM)on biomass,
    mineral element absorption and nutrient quality of asparagus(Asparagus officialis L.)in plastic tunnel.The
    results showed that the fresh weight of GM inoculated plant increased by 45.57% than non-inoculated control,and
    the dry matter weight of GM inoculated plant increased by 29.65%.GM inoculation obviously increases the content
    of chlorophyll and carotenoids in asparagus cladophyll and strengthens the root activity.The absorption abilities for
    N,P,K,Mg,Mn,Cu in inoculated asparagus are also increased.The contents of rutin and saponins in GM
    inoculated asparagus are significantly increased than the control.

    Taking‘ Weiman 83-06’ tomato( Solanum lycopersicum L.)cultivar as test materials,and nonwoven
    fabric as tomato nutrient substrate cultivation bag,this paper studies the effects of 3 different size cultivation
    bags〔 32 cm×25 cm(G1),55 cm×32 cm(G1),60 cm×25 cm(G3)〕of non-woven fabric on tomato plant
    growth,fruit yield and tomato quality. The results showed that under the experiment condition,the optimal
    cultivation bag was non-woven bag with 32 cm×25 cm,in which one tomato seedling per bag was planted.The dry
    weight of above-ground and under-ground ,the average fruit weight and yield per plant of G1 treatment were higher
    than that of G2 and G3 treatments. The fruit quality of G1 treatment is better than that of G2 and G3 treatments.

    ‘Dongnong 723’ is a new mid-maturing tomato F1 hybrid,developed by crossing 09811 as female
    parent and 09817 as male parent. It is highly resistant to ToMV,leaf mold,Fusarium wilt and Verticillium wilt. The
    fruit is of medium size. The average single fruit weight is 90-120 g. There are 8-10 fruits per ear. It can be harvested
    by cluster picking . Its matured fruit is golden yellow in color,of ovoid shape with smooth peel. The average firmness
    is 0.57 kg·cm-2. It is tolerant to storage and transportation. Its shelf life is over 30 days. The average yield is 180-
    225 t·hm-2 in protected fields. It is suitable for cultivation in protected fields all over China.

    Weikefen No.3’ is a new tomato F1 hybrid developed by crossing H10A as female parent and J10211 as
    male parent. It is early maturing. It takes only about 75 days from planting to fruit ripening. Its plant grows vigorously,
    and belongs to infinite growth type. It has continuous fruit setting ability. The first inflorescence sits at 6 to 7 nodes of
    the main vine. Its fruit is tall and round in shape with even pink color. The single fruit weight is 230-250 g. It can yield
    over195 t·hm-2. Its fruit has strong rigidity,spreading sepals,super commercial performance,and good taste. Its VC
    content is 256 mg·kg-1. It has stronger resistance to tomato yellow leaf curl virus,blight,leaf mold than‘ Mengzhifen’.
    It is suitable to be cultivated in greenhouse in early spring,late autumn and over winter.

    Yulongjiao’ is an early maturing hot pepper F1 hybrid developed by crossing inbred line 05B11
    as female parent and inbred line Y801 as male parent. Its fruit is of cavel shape. Its matured fruit is white yellow in
    color with good commercial quality. The peel of ripe fruit is red. It tastes middium hot,and the VC content is 81.9
    mg·kg-1.The fruit is 15-16 cm in length,about 2.2 cm in width,and 0.2 cm in fruit-wall thickness. The single
    fruit weight is 19-20 g. Its yield is about 39 t·hm-2. Its resistance to virus disease and blight is stranger than that
    of the contrast‘ Tainonghuangjiao’. It is suitable for early spring and later autumn cultivation in greenhouse and in
    hilly lands of Zhejiang Province.

    ‘Xuedan No.3’ is a new spring white radish variety bred by applying double-haploid technology.
    The female parent ED0108A is a male sterile line bred from crossing a double haploid‘ Meihuachunluobo’ and
    ‘Baiyuchunluobo’.The male parent ED3128 is a double haploid line bred by crossing radish‘ Chihuachunluobo’
    and‘ Tianhongchunluobo’. It can be harvested in 60 days after sowing. The expansion of the plant is 45 cm,and
    it has pinnatifid leaves and 11 pairs of leaflet. The root is long and cylindrical with white skin and flesh. The root is
    36 cm in length and 7.1 cm in diameter. The single root weight is 1.1 kg. It is highly resistant to black rot,cucumber
    mosaic virus,cauliflower mosaic virus. It is resistant to downy miledw. Its population uniformity is high. It
    can yield 60-75 t·hm-2. It is suitable to be cultivated in early spring in Hubei,Hunan,Henan and Shangdong
    Provinces.
