    The induced resistance of pumpkin seedlings to Phytophthora capsici and its physiological mechanism were studied by 24-Epibrassinolide with foliar spray.The results showed that 24-Epibrassinolide increased H2O2 content,decreased MDA content,improved catalase(CAT)activities,peroxidase(POD)activities first decreased slowly then increased.After inoculated by Phytophthora capsici,the disease index of pumpkin seedlings decreased by 29 %,the contents of H2O2 and MDA increased slowly when plants were sprayed with EBR first,but the MDA content and POD activity were remarkably lower than CP treatment,CAT activity was significantly higher than CP treatment.EBR evidently promoted the growth of pumpkin seedling,the plant growth vigor was also stronger than CP treatment even during Phytophthora capsici infection.EBR kept the metabolism of active oxygen at a balanced level and increased pumpkin resistance to Phytophthora capsici.

    Pakchoi seedlings exposed to different concentrations of lead were used to study effects of lead stress on chlorophyll content and antioxidant system.The main results were following:with the increase of lead concentration the contents of chlorophyll a,chlorophyll b,and total chlorophyll decreased,and the activities of SOD,POD,CAT first increased then decreased,and the MDA content increased.

    Onion oil and garlic extraction were studied to test the inhibitory action on conidia germination,mycelium development and the control effect on gray mold disease with strawberry fruits.The results showed that onion oil of 0.5 g?L-1 and garlic extraction of 200 g?L-1 were effective enough to control conidia germination.In another experiment,after 24 h,onion oil of 0.5 g?L-1 and garlic extraction of 100 g?L-1 could effectively inhibit mycelium growth,the inhibitory rates(IRs)were 89.3 % and 85.9 % respectively.After 48 h,the effective concentrations of onion oil and garlic extraction were 2.0 g?L-1 and 200 g?L-1,the related IRs were 90.5 % and 85.6 %.Onion oil and garlic extraction didn’t work well to control gray mold.At the same time,we found that chemical fungicide(Seibear)showed better control efficiency against gray mold and inhibitory action on fungal mycelium development.But it didn’t express effective action on fungal conidia germination.

    Total DNAs of thirty-six welsh onion cultivars were extracted from young leaves,10 random primes were selected in PCR.Eighty-nine RAPD bands were generated,of which 65 were polymorphic,with the ratio 73.03 %.The results of cluster analysis by UPGMA showed that the genetic distances between 36 cultivars ranged from 1.732 to 4.727.Three complex groups and one independent group were clustered when genetic distance coefficient was given as 3.883.Meanwhile a stable RAPD system of welsh onion was established.

    The technique of hybrid seed production in big-type wax gourd was studied in this paper.The results indicated that it is better to leave one fruit for propagation and the fruit on the 2nd or 3rd female flower node is better than other nodes.One male flower is better pollinated to 1-3 female flowers at 7:00-9:00.Good seed maturity and high seed germination percentage could be achieved when the fruit was picked 60 days after pollination and left ripening for 20 days.Planting density of 12 000-13 500 plants per hm2 can gain higher seed yield.
