A rapid method of identifing resistance to anthracnose of Chinese cabbage in seedling stage and reflecting adult resistance was developed by testing different inoculating methods,temperatures,plant ages and inoculum concentrations. The suspension of 6 000~12 000 conidia/mL was dripped on to the cotyledon of Chinese cabbage seedlings at cotyledon stage and kept at the temperature of 20~32℃ in 100% moisture for 24~48 hours.

The optimum germination temperatue of Asparagus seeds ranged from 20℃ to 25℃. The germination percentage of seeds,enzyme activity of α-amylase and respiratory intensity were positively related in a certain temperature range. The storage matters,such as starch,protein and fat etc. decreased while seeds germinated. The seed treatment of alternate temperature was better than the constant treatment. Temperature of day 25℃/night 20℃ gives the best result.

Effects of different combinations of N,P,K fertilizers on growth and yield of ginger were tested. The result indicated that the middle-level treatments,N 40kg,P 2O 5_7.5kg,K 2O 40kg per 667m 2,was the best,giving higher shoots,more and stronger branches,larger leaf area,more accumulation of dry matters and higher yield.

F 1 hybrid Zhongbai No. 2 has been bred using the two self-incompatible lines. Its growth period is 85 days and dwarf-stalk and overlapping in shape. It has highly resistant to Turnip Mosaic Virus,downy midew and black rot and has good quality,good storage property,which has been extended in Hebei,Shandong,shanxi,Henan and Qinghai.

New Cucumber Variety‘Jinong No. 2’is the result of repeated selection from cross combination of Ningyangdaci and Xiaobacha. The first nodal position of female flower is 3~6. The color of fruits is dark-green. The length of fruits is about 30~40cm. The type of fruits is claviform. The average fruit weights 250g. The yield is about 6t/ha. The variety is suitable to plant in most regions of Jilin province for open culture in both spring and summer.

The path analysis in this paper showed that high CO 2 concentration of root zone under the plastic film mulch was the major factor which limited the activities of roots and leaves of tomatoes. Perforated film mulch improved soil aeration,decreased the CO 2 concentration of root zone,remarkably delayed senescence of the plants,accelerated the photosynthesis of leaves and supply capacity of roots,and eventually resulted in high early yield and total yield.

Ten important agronomic characters of 1192 accessions of yardlong bean(Vigna unguiculata ssp. sesquipadalis)genetic resources were investigated. Very high level of variance existed among these varieties for all the characters studied,including pod length,pod weight,pod shape,pod color and seed coat color etc. .
