    Superior variety is the foundation for high-quality development of potato industry. This paper reviewed the basic research, breeding objectives,current registration status and replacement situation in potato;analyzed the problems of lacking breakthrough varieties,poor disease resistant varieties and insufficient innovation momentum,etc.;and put forward measures and suggestions including increasing protection of germplasm resources,strengthening variety registration,supporting seed industry enterprises and intensifying display evaluation,etc.,so as to deeply implement seed industry revitalization action,push forward highquality development of potato industry,and provide reference for helping all-round rural revitalization in poverty-striken areas.

    Using concentration ratio and industrial competitiveness as analytical method,and selecting 2017—2021 datum for constructing index system,this paper calculated the competitiveness of different regions in Guangxi vegetable industry. The results showed the specialization degree and geographical concentration of vegetable industry in Wuzhou,Baise and Hezhou were higher judging from the analysis of industrial concentration. But from the analysis of competitiveness,vegetable industry in Guilin,Wuzhou,Yulin,Baise and Hezhou had more advantageous position. Combining problems exiting in Guangxi vegetable industry,this paper put forward suggestions as strengthening standardization of vegetable production,improving degree of industrial organization,optimizing structure of vegetable varieties,and promoting integrated development of industries,etc.

    China has become the second largest producer of sweet corn.According to driving factors and limiting factors for sweet corn industry development,combined with official data and market comprehensive analysis,the prediction for sweet corn cultivated area in China will increase to 383 000 hm2 in 2026.The average annual growth rate(CAGR) will be 2.5%.In future,the planting ratio of high value sweet corn variety will gradually increase.According to market changing tendency,this paper classified the requirement details of varietal characters and cultivation characters by different market segments.This paper also put forward strategy and suggestions countering major problems and bottlenecks faced by development of sweet corn industry.

    In the context of a shift from quantitative expansion to a focus on quality in the cucumber industry,people are increasingly paying attention to the improvement of its quality.Cucumber has high yield with disease resistance and desirable fruit appearance as well as flavor has become an important goal of modern breeding.In this review,we systematically analyzed researches such as genetic analysis,gene mining,molecular markers created and valuation-utilization of high-quality germplasm resources on cucumber quality traits formation.Finally,prospects were made for further study on cucumber quality traits and the cultivation of high-quality cucumber varieties.

    Plant architecture is a significant factor affecting yield and cost input in agricultural production.Mapping QTLs related to plant architecture in cucumber will provide essential reference for genetic improvement of cucumber architecture.In this work,129 recombinant inbred lines which originated from a narrow-cross between cucumber cultivar‘Xintaimici’and wild cucumber‘PI183967’was constructed,and phenotypic investigation related to cucumber architecture was also conducted.At the same time,genetic linkage map was constructed based on resequencing data of parents and recombinant inbred lines,and then QTL mapping analysis related cucumber architecture was performed.The results indicated that the genetic linkage map containing 598 bin markers was constructed,the genetic linkage map’s overall distance is 1 353 cM,and the average physical distance between two bin markers is 352.8 kb.QTL mapping analysis for plant height,internode length,internode number,branch number and Stem diameter was conducted.A total of 7 QTLs were detected,including 2 QTLs for plant height,2 QTLs for internode length,1 QTL for internode number,1 QTL for branch number and 1 QTL for stem diameter.Nine causative genes preliminarily were filtered and predicted by the annotated data and literature.

    In order to screen out high-quality and multi-resistant pepper germplasms,this paper took 109 domestic and foreign pepper germplasms as test material;measured 6 traits of fruit quality;and identified whether they carried TMV resistant gene L4,Phytophthora capsici resistant gene CaPhyto,TSWV resistant gene Tsw and PVY resistant gene Pvr4. Then,the paper carried out comprehensive evaluation through genetic diversity analysis,correlation analysis,principal component analysis,cluster analysis and aggregated boosted tree(ABT)analysis. Results showed that the genetic diversities of 109 pepper germplasms were abundant,and coefficient of variation ranged from 24.51%-123.52%. Among them β-carotene content showed maximum variation degree. ABT analysis also indicated that capsanthin had the greatest influence on indexes determined by colorimeter,followed by lutein and that of β-carotene was minimum. The resistance molecular markers had identified 8 accessions carrying L4 gene,23 carrying CaPhyto gene and 1 carrying Pvr4 gene. The principal component analysis and cluster analysis showed that 109 pepper germplasms could be divided into 3 groups.The quality indexes of group I and group II were all relatively excellent. Finally,9 germplasms with both good quality and resistance were screened out.

    Using 29 pumpkin materials as rootstocks and‘Meixiu’as scion,we statistically analyzed 16 traits of different grafting combinations in the healing and symbiosis stages,and screened and classified the rootstocks by membership function analysis based on PCA and cluster analysis.The results indicated that by comparing the two traits of non-wilting rate and fuchsin content at 6 days after grafting,the healing compatibility of 9 rootstocks was stronger,which were ZM4,ZM7,ZM10,ZM11,ZM13,ZM17,ZM22,ZM25 and ZM27.Through the comprehensive evaluation of various traits in the healing and symbiosis stages of different grafting combinations,it was found that the D values of the three materials were high,which were ZM17,ZM11 and ZM22,and could be used as new stock breeding materials.

    This study aimed to identify strains of the tomato spotted wilt virus(TSWV)infecting peppers in Guizhou,and establish rapid detection techniques,specifically TSWV loop-mediated isothermal amplification(LAMP).We collected Twelve pepper samples suspected of TSWV infection and ten samples of Western flower thrips from major pepper-producing regions in Guizhou Province.These samples were analyzed
    using RT-PCR,LAMP detection techniques and hylogenetic tree construction based on TSWV-N genes.Molecular diagnosis and sequencing results confirmed the presence of TSWV in the suspected pepper samples.Additionally,he pathogenic isolates of TSWV in peppers from the Xifeng area of Guizhou exhibited a striking 99% similarity to Guizhou tomato TSWV-N isolates.Building upon these findings,a TSWV rapid detection
    system for pepper crops and the vector Thrips occidentalis was successfully established,providing strong support for the monitoring and control of pepper virus diseases in Guizhou.

    In order to explore the effect of leaf spraying water-soluble silicon during nutritional growth period on Allium fistulosum L. var. viviparum Makino quality,this study adopted gas chromatography ionmobility spectrometry(GC-IMS)technology,detected and analyzed the volatile compounds of Allium fistulosum L. var. viviparum Makino.Results showed that 64 and 67 volatile compounds were detected in pseudo stem and tubular leaves,respectively.Among them,38 effective substances were identified in pseudo stem and 33 effective substances were identified in tubular leaves.Spraying 400 times water-soluble silicon could increase the accumulation quantities of volatile compounds with floral and fruity aroma(tsugbonate,ethyl octanoate,etc.)and spicy odor(diallyl disulfide,dipropyl trisulfide,etc.)in pseudo stem,and increase the abundance of volatile compounds with floral and fruity aroma in tubular leaves.Therefore,spraying exogenous water-soluble silicon could increase the content of characteristic volatile compounds in Allium fistulosum L. var. viviparum Makino,and then provided theoretical basis for strengthening directive utilization of different tissue parts in Allium fistulosum L. var. viviparum Makino.

    In order to investigate the effects of exogenous EBR and ALA on over-summer growth of chilli seedlings under high-temperature stress,this experiment took 2 chilli varieties‘Bolahongniu’and ‘Changyanqingxiang’,as test material,and sprayed different concentrations EBR(0.001,0.01,0.1,and 1.0 mg · L-1)and ALA(15,30,45,and 60 mg · L-1). The results showed that exogenous EBR and
    ALA all could enhance seedling ability of resisting high-temperature adversity to different extent. After spraying different concentrations of EBR and ALA,the growth indexes of chilli seedlings including plant height,stemthickness,dry and fresh mass,and sound seedling index,etc. all showed an upward trend. The activities of antioxidant enzymes as SOD,POD,and CAT were strengthened. The content of MDA was reduced.The contents of proline,soluble sugar,and soluble protein were increased. The activities of key nitrogen metabolism enzymes like NR,NiR,GS,etc. were significantly enhanced. The treatment of 0.01 mg · L-1 EBR and 45 mg · L-1 ALA had the best effect on relieving high-temperature stress.

    Sweet-waxy maize is an important direction for developing fresh-eating maize.The sweetwaxy double recessive maize inbred line is an important material for preparation of new sweet-waxy maize varieties.Through creating superior waxy maize inbred line by local waxy maize germplasm in Guangxi;and breeding sweet-waxy double recessive maize material by pedigree method and grain iodine coloration method,this study succeeded in breeding 3 excellent sweet-waxy double recessive maize inbred lines,namely ‘GTL270’,‘GSL121’ and ‘GSL125’,which were utilized to prepare another 3 new combination of fresheating sweet-waxy maize with high yield and superior quality.This combination was examined and approved by Guangxi,thus enriched the market of sweet-waxy maize in Guangxi.

    In order to clarify the current situation and existing problems of fertilization of typical protected vegetables in Yinan County,Xinji Town,Dazhuang Town,Zhangzhuang Town,Yiwen Town,Jiehu Street,Sucun Town and Zhuangbu Town were taken as the survey areas,and the yield and fertilization of protected tomatoes and cucumbers were investigated and analyzed by questionnaire and field sampling. The results showed that the average yield of solar greenhouse cucumber was 1.58 times that of archedgreenhouse cucumber,and the yield of greenhouse cucumber was significantly higher than that of greenhouse tomato;The average inputs of N,P2O5,and K2O in plastic greenhouse cucumber,solar greenhouse cucumber,and solar greenhouse tomato were 2.85-4.68,5.10-8.54,and 5.90-10.02 times that of corn,respectively;And the N,P2O5,and K2O inputs of plastic greenhouse cucumber,solar greenhouse cucumber,and solar greenhouse tomato were 1.46 to 2.41,3.36 to 7.03,and 0.92 to 1.35 times the demand,respectively. The proportion of nitrogen,phosphorus,and potassium nutrient supply does not match the proportion of vegetable demand,and potassium is relatively balanced,while the proportion of nitrogen and phosphorus is significantly too high;Under the same planting method,there is a significant difference in nitrogen,phosphorus,and potassium nutrient input between different regions for the same type of vegetable;The proportion of nutrients of base fertilizer and top dressing is unreasonable,and the proportion of base fertilizer is too high,especially the proportion of nutrients of base Manure exceeds 60%.Therefore,it is recommended that farmers reduce the input of nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizer,appropriately reduce the proportion of manure in the base fertilizer,
    appropriately increase the proportion of chemical fertilizer topdressing,and select the appropriate chemical fertilizer according to the type and growth period of vegetables.

    ‘Fenbao No.1’is a new cherry tomato F1 hybrid developed by crossing‘qix15-1-5’as female parent and‘qx08-3-28’as male parent.It is of mid-late maturity.This cultivar is characteristics of indeterminate growth habit,vigorous vine plant.The oval shaped fruit is deeply pink colored,possess a sweet taste,and displays green shoulder at pre-ripening stage.The average single fruit weight is 19 g.The soluble solid content is 7.2%,and total sugar is 9.3%.This cultivar carries Ty-2 gene for resistance to TYLCV,Mil-2 gene for resistance to root-knot nematode,and Cf-5 gene for resistance to leaf-mold.In fields,its resistance to TYLCV,root-knot nematode and leaf-mold are stronger than that of the contrast‘Bijiao’.The yield is about 45 t · hm-2.It is suitable for greenhouse cultivation in early spring in Shaanxi Province.

    ‘Dongfang No.1’is a new large-fruit type watermelon F1 hybrid bred by crossing inbred line‘DWP203’as female parent and inbred line‘DFC108’as male parent.It is of mid-late maturity.Its whole growth period is about 100 days and the fruit development period is about 35 days.The fruit is of oval shape,and pericarp is dark green in color with irregular jagged stripes.The fruit pericarp is about 1.2 cm thickness.The flesh is pink in color with delicate,pulp fiber residue less.The central soluble solids content is about 11.1%,and edge soluble solids content is about 6.9%.The single fruit weight is about 7 kg.It can yield about 123 t · hm-2.This variety has medium resistance to watermelon fusarium wilt.It is suitable for open field cultivation in Shandong,Anhui,Jiangsu,Ningxia,Gansu regions.

    ‘Longshu No.22’is a new potato variety through sexual hybridization,selection and identification with‘Longshu No.7’as female parent and‘L0527-4’as male parent.It is of late maturity.The growth period is about 125 days,the plant with 75-80 cm high,green stems and leaves is semi erect.The corolla with white and nearly pentagonal is large.The tuber with yellow skin and yellow flesh,and shallow eyes is oval shape.The dry matter content is 265.7 g · kg-1,starch content is 197.3 g · kg-1.The weight of single tubers was about 113.7 g,the proportion of large and medium tubers was more than 80%.The yield is about 28.5 t · hm-2.This resistance of field to late blight and mosaic virus disease was similar to that of the control‘Longshu No.6’.It is suitable for planting in high cold and damp area,semi-arid region of Gansu Province.

    ‘Chengjiang 12’is a new cowpea variety with super-early maturity developed by crossing‘225’as female parent and‘p-3’as male parent through systematic breeding.The duration from sowing to harvest is 45-55 days.As a sprawl plant,the first inflorescence sets at the 2nd-4th node.The flower is light purple in color,and newly grown pod is purple-red in color.The pods are oblong,straight and slightly convex.On average,these pods measure 56.05 cm in length and weigh approximately 21.08 g. The anthocyanin content in the young pods is recorded at 457 mg · kg-1.The seeds themselves are kidneyshaped,with a light reddish-brown seed coat.Its resistance to virus disease is stronger than that of the contrast ‘Chunqiutianzihong’and‘Yipinhong’during the adult stage in experimental fields.Additionally,it demonstrates resistance to root rot during the seedling stage.Under optimal growing conditions,it can yield about 33 t · hm-2,with the early yield constituting more than 65% of the total yield.Taken together,it is particularly well-suited for early maturing cultivation in Sichuan.
