Trichoderma spp.was isolated from the substitute cultivation of Pleurotus ostreatus, then the antagonistic action of isolated Trichoderma viride with Fusarium oxyporum and Rhizoctonia solani on cucumber was researched. The isolated Trichoderma viride TH4 strongly antagonized these two soil-borne pathogens. The parasitism of TH4 on these two soil-borne pathogens was observed by optical microscopy.By the cellophane disk method and enclosed chamber test,we drew the conclusion that the non-volatile metabolites and volatile metabolites of TH4 had the inhibition effect to the two soil-borne pathogens.

In order to study the occurrence of post-harvest diseases of pepper, the fruits collected from Guangzhou and Zengcheng were stored at room temperature(25 ℃)and detected the latent infection rates and pathogenic ability of pathogens. The results showed that Colletotrichum gloeosporioides,Fusarium sp.,Alternaria alternata,Phytophthoracapisici,Botrytiscinerea and Erwinia carotovora were detected on the post-harvest fruits stored at 25 ℃ for 5 days.Among these diseases, the diseases caused by C.gloeosporioides,Fusarium sp.and E.carotovora were the major diseases. Most of the latent pathogens presented in the fruit-stalks and fruit-pedicels.The disease initially started in fruit-stalks.Subsequently,the pathogens extended to the fruit-pedicels and the fruits, and finally caused the fruit rot.The experiment of artificial inoculation indicated that the pathogens were infected fruits mainly through wounds. The rate of infection by wound inoculation was higher than that by the inoculation without wound, and the occurrence of post-harvest diseases was obviously decreased after removing pepper fruit-stalks.

A pot experiment was carried out to study the effect of different foliar fertilizer on the growth, yield and quality of tomato. The results obtained were listed as following:application of different foliar fertilizers could not only increase tomato yield 28.6 %-85.7 % higher than that of the control, but also enable the plant to rapidly absorb N,P and K through its leaves, thus markedly increasing their contents in the plants.Foliar applications of suitable concentration of BRs and nutrient substance significantly promoted plant growth, enhanced chlorophyll content and net photosynthetic rate of tomato leaves, improved the contents of VC,soluble sugar and protein and decreased the content of organic acid of tomato, thus improving the fruit quality.Among the different combinations of foliar fertilizers, the rational mixture of suitable concentration of nutrient substance with BRs had the most optimum results in stimulating plant growth and increasing yield and improving fruit quality.

Currently major or new varieties of spring Chinese cabbage were selected in production test in early spring of 2006 and 2007.The results showed that eight varieties‘Chunhuang’,‘Jujin’,‘Yangchun’,‘Qiangshi’,‘Sanbao’,‘Quansheng’,‘07-Y17’and‘Chunzhenbai No.6’had excellent performance.Safe production of spring Chinese cabbage could be realized in areas near Jinan by direct seeding with plasticfilm mulching.

Three major characteristics(fruit setting percentage, single fruit weight and single plant yield)under weak light condition were selected to study the genetic effects of weak light tolerance of eggplant by using quantitative genetics. The result showed that the genetic effects of these three major characteristics can be all explained by additive-dominance model, and that dominance effects of fruit setting percentage and single plant yield are given priority. The dominance potentials of two characteristics are positive over dominance. The additive effects of single fruit weight are in the ascendant, the dominance potentials is positive complete dominance. The narrow heritability of these three characteristics is 14.59 %,28.01 % and 10.57 % respectively. The broad heritability is 56.64 %,44.74 % and 50.58 %.The three characteristics are more affected by environment. The minimum number of genes which control the three characteristics is 3,1 and 4 respectively.Optimal selection generation of the three characteristics is F7,F5 and F8 respectively.Selection should not be conducted in early generations. The heterosis of weak light tolerance of eggplant can be used to produce F1 hybrids by crossing the parents with weak light tolerance.
