Sixteen cucumber cultivars with different adaptability to low temperature and weak light were employed. Indexes on photosynthesis,physiology and biochemistry,morphology under low temperature and weak light were measured.Efficient early stage identification method and evaluation system for low temperature and weak light adaptability were deve- loped and used in the germplasm selection.The stability,operability,selection pressure and standardization of the evaluation system were discussed.

The experiments of water absorbing rate,seed germination among different water contents,among different germination beds and on vertical boards,and mucosa extractant produced during eggplant seed germinating treatment with eggplant varieties Liuyeqie and Zhongchang No.1 were conducted.The results showed that mucosa doesn t hamper water enter seed;when the abundance of water increased,the mucosa got thicker,the germination rate reduced.In order to remove mucosa,sand bed could be used as germination bed.

This article studied the effects of different nitrogen amount on the growth,yield and quality of spinach.Results indicated that the growth of spinach strengthened,the yield increased with nitrogen amount increasing.But the excess of nitrogen decreased yield.The yield reached 48.3 t·hm~ -2 when nitrogen amount was 0.6 t·hm~ -2 ,but it was only 45.0 t· hm~ -2 when nitrogen amount was 0.9 t·hm~ -2 ,88.0 % and 75.3 % higher than CK respectively.Nitrogen could reduce the spinach dry matter,cellulose,organic acid...

Jinglv No.2 is a new pakchoi hybrid developed by two self-incompatibility lines Y07 and Y31.The plant is 21 cm in height and 31 cm in width.The leaf is dark green and the petiole is green with 3.8 cm in width and 0.8 cm in thickness.It has high resistance to virus,resistance to downy mildew and black leaf spot rot,tolerance to high or low temperature and high humidity.The average plant weight is about 0.24 kg and its yield is 37.5 t·hm~ -2 .

A new variety of Chinese cabbage Xinsiji was bred by crossing two self-incompatible lines 021 and 035.It has light-green leaves with hairless,wide and white petioles.It is resistant to virus,tolerance to downy mildew.It can be harvested in 25-40 days after sowing.Its total yield is 32.5-52.5 t·hm~ -2 .It is especially suitable for cultivation in summer.

Yannong No.1 is a new cucumber F_ 1 hybrid developed by crossing two inbred lines A-3-5-1-2-5-7 which was selected from Haiyangbaihuanggua as a female parent and B-3-5-4-5-1-8 which was selected from Yantaibaiyu as a male parent.It has stronger resistance to downy mildew,powdery midew than Haiyangbaihuanggua and Luhuanggua No.3,tolerance to low temperture and weak light.Its fruit is about 20 cm in length and 3.5 cm in diameter and 100-120 g in weight.Its skin is smooth and white-green with luster.
