Abstract920)      PDF(pc) (179KB)(1371)       Save
Experiments were carried out to study high temperature injury with 6 cabbage breeding materials by ways of electrolyte leakage, high temperature stress test in phytotron and greenhouse. The results showed that it was hard to distinguish the difference between heat tolerant materials and relatively heat tolerant materials by ways of electrolyte leakage and summer high temperature stress test, the phytotron test with the index of high temperature injury of leaf whilting was easy to tell the different h...

Prelimiary Study on Dynamic Changing of CO_2 Concentration in Sola Lean to Greenhouse During the Cultivation of Cucumber
He Qiwei;Ai Xizhen;Sun Xiaolei;et al.
   2002, 1 (1): 7-10.
Abstract975)      PDF(pc) (184KB)(1044)       Save
On the basis of three years research work, the results showed that the seasonal and diurnal variation of CO 2 concentration in solar lean to greenhouse was obvious during the cucumber growth. CO 2 concentration was higher in November and March and lower in May. The pattern of diurnal variation of CO 2 concentration among seasons was similar, decreased with the increasing of photosynthetic and reached the lowest at 12:00-14:00 PM,then increased with the decreasing of photosynthesis. The major factors af...

Identification on the Resistance to Tunip Mosaic Virus for the Non-heading Chinese Cabbage Accessions in China
Wang Shubin;Yuan Xihan;Su Xiaojun;et al.
   2002, 1 (1): 11-12.
Abstract1194)      PDF(pc) (90KB)(834)       Save
Identification on the resistance to tunip mosaic virus (TuMV) in Brassica campestris ssp. Chinensis Makino at seedling stage was conducted during the period of 1996-2000. Nine hundred and eighty two non heading Chinese cabbage accessions in China were tested for resistance to TuMV by mechanical inoculation in an insect free greenhouse. The result show that nine accessions were highly resistant (HR) to TuMV,making up 0.92% of the total accessions identified, forty nine were resistant (R) to T...

Study on Cutting Propagation of Toona sinensis
Tu Bingkun;Wang Pengcheng;Ye Yaomei;et al.
   2002, 1 (1): 13-15.
Abstract2143)      PDF(pc) (151KB)(2281)       Save
Using root cutting and shoot cutting,by means of the orthogonal design propagation of Toona sinensis was carried out. The results showed that root cutting was superior to shoot cutting, and long cutting was better than short cutting for propagation. There were some difference in rooting positions between the root cutting and the short cutting,Adventitious roots developed from callu and corium for the shoot cutting and root cutting respectively. Cutting propagation using root and shoot cutting could be us...

Investigation of the Nutrient Solution Management of Tomato Cultivation in Modern Greenhouse
Lü Weiguang;Zhao Jingyin;Yao Zheng;et al.
   2002, 1 (1): 18-19.
Abstract1378)      PDF(pc) (154KB)(1116)       Save
The investigation on the nutrient solution management of tomato cultivation under modern greenhouse showed that ranges of pH in nutrient solution and drainage solution were 5.0-6.0 and 6.0-7.0 respectively. The EC value in drainage solution was 1.0ms·cm -1 higher than that in nutrient solution. The important factors affecting the amount of nutrient solution supply were light intensity and temperature. The amount of drainage was over 40% of irrigation amount. Tomato needed more N,Ca and Mg during vegeta...

The Effect of Mechanical Brushing during Seedling Stage on the Growth and Development of Vegetable Plants
Li Guojing;F.Benoit;N.Ceustermans
   2002, 1 (2): 4-8.
Abstract932)      PDF(pc) (232KB)(892)       Save
The aim of the present research was to determine the possibility of the application of Mechanical Brushing (MB) during the nursery to prevent excessive growth instead of plant growth retardants. The intensity of MB was regulated by the time when the seedlings were subjected to MB and the density of the plastic slices. The results showed that MB significantly retarded plant elongation, reduced the intertruss length and increased the ratio of stem diameter to plant length. The sensitivities of sweet pepper,tom...

Abstract1341)      PDF(pc) (491KB)(1633)       Save
The differences of various cauliflower cultivars in leaf activities of peroxidiase and nitrate reductase and cell ultrastructure under drought stress were investigated. The results showed that under drought stress,POD activity in all cultivars increased while NR activity increased only in late maturing cultivars and decreased in early and mid maturing cultivars. The changes of chloroplasts and mitochondria also varied with cultivars. In early and mid maturing cultivars, the chloroplasts became more rou...

Abstract1032)      PDF(pc) (192KB)(904)       Save
Four tomato cultivars, Baiguoqiangfeng, Jiafen, Hezuo 903 and Jiangshu No.1 were studied on Ca uptake and transportation in the plant at the seedling stage in the condition of Ca deficiency by using solution culture. The results showed that the amounts of the absorbed Ca by seedlings under the normal supplement of calcium (CK) were significantly different among the four cultivars, the detailed order from large to small is as follows: Baiguoqiangfeng, Jiafen, Hezuo 903 and Jiangshu No.1. The absorption of Ca...
