Abstract Root morphological and physiological characteristics were studied by using different pepper varieties at different day/night temperature.The results showed that the total root length of three varieties decreased with temperature decreasing.The root diameter increased at early stage and then decreased.The root volumes of Sujiao No.5 and Bianjiaoxinshengdai had the similar trends with the root diameter and their root activities increased,while both volume and activity of root of Suchanghong decreased.The valu...
