Abstract The experiments of water absorbing rate,seed germination among different water contents,among different germination beds and on vertical boards,and mucosa extractant produced during eggplant seed germinating treatment with eggplant varieties Liuyeqie and Zhongchang No.1 were conducted.The results showed that mucosa doesn t hamper water enter seed;when the abundance of water increased,the mucosa got thicker,the germination rate reduced.In order to remove mucosa,sand bed could be used as germination bed.
