Abstract Four isozymes:esterase(EST),peroxidase(POD),α-amylase and superoxide dismutase (SOD)extracted from buds of 16 radish(Raphanus sativus L.)accessions were studied with polyacrylamid gel electrophoresis(PAGE).The results showed that a high degree of polymorphism was observed in the EST and POD isozymes. There was a co-dominant locus detected in the zymogram patterns of SOD and α-amylase isozyme, respectively. The isozyme zymogram and cluster analysis revealed genetic diversity and relationship among the tested accessions. This provided valuable theoretical reliance for radish germplasm identification and genetic improvement.
