Abstract Seed soaking time had a significant effect on germination of waxgourd‘Yichuanling’. Germinating potential and germination percentage decreased rapidly with seed soaking time. But high germinating potential and germination percentage were observed for the seeds without soaking treatment. The seed moisture only could be saturated 48 hours after both treatments of soaking and directly sowing on germination bed.
