Abstract Xinfan No. 4 (Originally called Xinhong 718)is a processing tomato F 1 hybrid. It was crossed by inbred lines from‘Introducing-6’and‘Meidong’. Its plants are determinate and grow vigo rously. It contains 5.65% soluble solid,12.63mg/100g pectin and average weight per fruit was 71.38g. The yield was 75～105t/ha,higher than checks‘Hongmanao 140’and‘UC-82’. It resistant to TMV,tolerant to CMV. Its fruit was more firm. Up to 1995,it has been extended more than 333 ha in Xinjiang.
