Abstract The study on the effect of mixed growing media with different ratio of coir dust to vermiculite on potted cucumber seedling growth was carried out. The results showed the mixed media had better physical and chemical properties than pure vermiculite or coir dust,total porosity ranged from 81.42%～85.25%,maximum water holding capacities ranged from 157.24%～398.90%.
