Abstract：Diseases is a key factor restricting watermelon production．This paper introduced the clinical characters of Fusarium wilt，powdery mildew，gummy stem blight，anthracnose，bacterial fruit blotch and Cucumber green mottle mosaic virus，and research progress made in pathogen，inheritance rule of resistance， resistance gene mapping，molecular marker，and resistant varieties breeding，etc. fields．The paper also prospected direction for future development，hoping to provide references for watermelon disease resistance breeding．
