  The experiments on effect of different organic fertilizers on nitrate accumulation in lettuce were carried out in both open field and plastic tunnel. The results indicated that different organic fertilizers significantly affected the accumulation of nitrate in lettuce in both open field and plastic tunnel, lowest nitrate content occured in treatmants with cattle manure and well-composted chook manure, while bean cake and pig manure increased nitrate content as compared with the control.

  Hezuo905 is a new tomato F_1 hybrid bred by crossing two inbred lines 89-336 and 76-5-15. The fruit is red with hard flesh, round shaped, with VC content of 109.4 mg·kg~ -1, total soluble sugar content of 2.4 %, organic acid content of 0.50 %, and soluble solid content of 4.9 %. The fruits have shelf life of 30 days under usual temperature. It is resistant to ToMV and leaf mold. It yields 90 t·hm~ -2and is suitable to be cultivated in both open field and protected field.

  Dabao is a new early maturity watermelon F_1 hybrid developed by crossing female parent 347 with male parent 355. It is middle resistant to Fusarium wilt. The fruit is high resistant to cracking, with sugar content of 9.5 %-10.0 %. It is suitable for transportation and can be grown in open or protected field in early spring.
