10 Distribution of Genes Related to Sex Determination in Cucumber Germplasm of Different Sex Types

The distribution of genes related to sex determination in cucumber germplasm of different sex pheynotypes was analyzed by specific PCR primers based on the sequences of CS-ACS1G,CS-ACO2,CS-ACO3,CS-ERS and CS-ETR2.The results showed that five genes could be detected in all cucumber materials.It meant that these five genes were not specific to the gynoecius plants.ACC synthase gene of 1 124 bp was cloned from gynoecious cucumber(G5224).BLAST analysis revealed that the sequence was similar to the sequence of CS-ACS1G gene(Trebitsh,1997),and 99 % sequence of them was homologous.Our results are in contradiction with some other researchers that CS-ACS1G gene existed only in gynoecious cucumbers.

14 Studies on the Cross-protection of Cucumber Induced by Pseudomonas syringae pv.lachrymans

The cross-protection of cucumber leaves to cucumber downy mildew and angular leaf spot was determined after inoculation with Pseudomonas syringae pv.lachrymans.The results showed that the relative control effect to cucumber downy mildew could amount to 97.14 %,and it was 59.04 % for angular leaf spot.The content of lignin and hydroxyproline-rich glycoprotein(HRGP)increased significantly,and peaked after inoculation for 48 hours.It might enhance the resistance of cucumber.The results also suggested that broadspectrum resistance to different diseases was expressed by pathogen.

18 Effect of Calcium on Growth and Yield of Cucumber in Solar-greenhouse

Effects of calcium in different concentration on plant height,leaf area,photosynthetic rate and yield of cucumber(Jinyou No.3 is taking as experiment stuff)in solar-greenhouse were studied.The results show that CaCl2 can promote the plant growth,increase its photosynthetic rate,and improve the yield of cucumber remarkably.The best result was achieved when the plant was treated with 15 mmol?L-1 CaCl2.

20 Initial Analysis on Genetic Relationship of Brassica oleracea L.by RAPD

RAPD analysis on genetic relationship and genetic diversity of 30 samples of Brassica oleracea L.was conducted.Ten primers were selected from 100 primers to amplify 30 samples,and a total number of 90 bands wereamplified,among which 72(80.0 %)were polymorphic.The results of RAPD were analyzed by UPGMA clustering.The result showed that all samples could be divided into 6 groups with the similarity coefficient of 0.85,and their genetic relationship was analyzed.

22 Analysis on Nutrient Contents of Arctium lappa L.from Different Altitude Areas

The contents of amino acids,protein,fat,starch,soluble sugar,crude fiber and inorganic elements of Arctium lappa L.from different altitude areas were analyzed.The relationship between each ingredient content and the meteorologic factors was discussed.The results indicate that Arctium lappa L.contained rich nutrient elements,such as amino acid(9.89 %~12.19 %),inorganic elements(10 sorts),protein(1.9 %~3.1 %),soluble sugar(11.6 %~13.9 %),etc.As altitude heightens,the contents of protein,amino acid and starch increase,but that of soluble sugar and fat decrease.
