    China is the world’s largest producer of vegetables,with vegetables being the primary export category of Chinese agricultural products,accounting for 16.157% of agricultural exports in 2022.In the context of the RCEP agreement’s signing and implementation,it is highly significant to explore the status and potential of China’s vegetable trade with its partners to deepen the positive eff ects of exports and enhance the international competitiveness of Chinese vegetables.The study utilizes panel data of China’s vegetable export trade to RCEP partners from 2006 to 2022,constructs a stochastic frontier gravity model and a trade inefficiency model,empirically analyzes China’s trade efficiency and its influencing factors with respect to RCEP partners,and measures the export potential of each country.The results indicate that the economic level,population size,economic disparity,vegetable yields,and trade environment of China and RCEP partners significantly impact vegetable exports.The rule of law,economic institutional environment,and infrastructure level of RCEP partners positively infl uence the effi ciency of vegetable exports.However,the level of integrity in export destinations and improvements in government effi ciency,conversely,negatively aff ect trade effi ciency.The average effi ciency of China’s vegetable exports to RCEP partners over the years is 0.667,though there are signifi cant diff erences among the countries within the RCEP partnership.China should continue to enhance the quality of its vegetable exports,expedite the implementation of the RCEP agreement,and further expand the depth and breadth of its cooperation with RCEP partners to reduce trade resistance and promote the continued growth of vegetable export volumes.

    近年来,广东省蔬菜产业发展形势持续向好:蔬菜产业规模呈现稳定增长趋势,播种面积和产量增长幅度均高于全国平均水平;产业聚集明显,四大蔬菜产区特色鲜明;生产结构基本稳定;供给充足,消费品种结构日益多样;流通渠道逐步多元、丰富,线上销售模式受青睐;进出口基本稳定,贸易顺差较大。尤其是新形势下,广东蔬菜产业规模化、产业化、品牌化、绿色化等高质量发展水平逐步提升。本文从蔬菜生产、供需、高质量发展等入手,重点剖析广东省蔬菜产业发展概况,梳理其发展问题,并提出对策建议。

    China is an important country in vegetable production.The output ranks among the top in the world,and vegetable products are sold all over the world.But,under the background of China-US trade war and COVID-19 pandemic,trade friction between China and the United States has increased.The external
    environment for Chinese vegetable exporting to the United States is complicated. Research finding indicates that from 2017—2021,the whole export value of Chinese vegetables to the United States goes down and then goes up,with a larger trend of export value fluctuation.Among importers of American vegetables,China’s market share has been declining year by year.The uncertainty of Chinese vegetable export to the US market is rising.Especially it faces great challenges in tariff,supply chain,exchange rate,inspection and quarantine,etc..Thereout according to the current situation of Chinese vegetable export to the United States,this paper puts forward 5 suggestions:namely formulate and improve vegetable quality standard system,enhance the competitiveness of vegetable export;support the development of packaging,transportation and other industries supporting vegetable export;strengthen vegetable brand management,enhance product awareness;encourage the establishment of export production bases,and implement large-scale and standardized production.

    Abstract:In 2024,the general market prices of vegetables predominantly adhered to the typical pattern of annual seasonal fluctuations.Nevertheless,during the summer-autumn periods,the prices tended to operate at relatively elevated levels.Owing to the impact of unfavorable weather conditions and their sustained eff ects,it is anticipated that the upward trajectory of vegetable prices in the current winter and the forthcoming spring will be less steep compared to previous years,with a potentially longer duration of the price-increasing cycle.Taking into account the fact that the overall vegetable prices were on the higher side in 2024 and the acreage under cultivation has increased year-on-year,it is projected that the overall supply of vegetables in the spring of 2025 will be ensured.

    ‘Tianzheng 1567’ is a new early maturing tomato F1 hybrid bred by crossing inbred line‘DFN-01’as female parent and inbred line‘LST-006’as male parent.It is of unlimited growth type.Its plant has strong growth vigor.Its successive fruit setting ability is strong.The fruit is of oval shape and uniform in size.The matured fruit is dark pink in color.The single fruit weight is about 250 g.The contents of soluble solid matter,lycopene and VC are 6.2%,43.3 mg · kg-1 and 311.2 mg · kg-1,respectively.It is resistant to tomato yellow leaf curl virus(TYLCV),leaf mold,fusarium wilt,verticillium wilt and root-knot nematode.It can yield about 165 t · hm-2.It is suitable to be planted in Shandong,Yunnan and the most regions of China for late autumn cultivation in protected fields.

    In recent years,China’s facility vegetable industry has developed rapidly.Application of modern agricultural technologies including facilities construction,water-saving irrigation,water-fertilizer integration,light and simplified cultivation,green prevention and control,etc.has promoted the healthy and rapid development of facility vegetable industry.However,the overall level of facility vegetables is still not high.There existed problems as poor facilities,low degree of mechanization,low utilization rate of production materials,backward cultivation and management technology,and insufficient intelligent application,etc.China’s facility vegetable development should focus on development of facility vegetable’s germplasm resources,optimization of facility structure and equipment’s modernization,intellectualization of environment regulation,greenization of plant diseases and insect pestscontrol,modernization of production management,optimization and diversification of facility vegetables,multi-format integration and high efficiency,and expansion of facility vegetable space,etc.directions;so as to promote high-quality development of China’s facility vegetable industry.

    From 2022 to the first half of 2023,vegetable mechanization of China had ushered in new development opportunities. The development of vegetable mechanization had attracted widespread attention,and shown an overall accelerated development trend. This article summarized the new breakthroughs of vegetable mechanization technology in the research and development of equipment for key links such as vegetable transplanting and harvesting,the innovation of typical vegetable mechanization models,and the exploration of intelligent technology for vegetable production. It also outlined the new progress of vegetable mechanization in demonstration and promotion,integration of agricultural machinery and agronomy,and practical application. However,there is still a big gap between the development of vegetable mechanization and the high-quality development of the vegetable industry. To this end,it is recommended to accelerate the development of vegetable mechanization from four levels:integrated guiding goals,integrated integration measures,integrated complete sets of equipment,and integrated service entities.

    In 2022,the potato market in China has 3 significant characteristics:lower price in the supply stage of stock potatoes,high price in the supply stage of spring and autumn potatoes,and the overall price level is high,etc.It is expected that the potato market trend in 2023 will first rise and then fall year-on-year.At present,there are some prominent problems in the development of potato industry in China include the total production cost increase rapidly,industrial resilience needs to be strengthened,and some producing areas are in urgent need for transformation and upgrading,etc.The paper suggested that variouse regions should take multiple measures to promote cost-saving and efficiency increasing potato,strive to promote potato industry chain development level,vigorously develop potato characteristic and advantage industry,and accelerate the high-quality development of potato industry.

    ‘Zhoupilyuyou’is a new pepper F1 hybrid developed by crossing inbred line‘DS12-7’as female parent and‘DS11-109’as male parent.It is of early maturity,and its growth period is about 180 days.The plant is about 60-70 cm in height,55-60 cm in width,with strong fruit bearing ability.Its harvesting period is long.The fruit is of flat-topped screw shaped.Its fruit is about 2.5 cm in diameter,14-15 cm in length and 23-25 g in weight.The surface of fruit has many wrinkles.Its tender fruit is dark green,mature fruit is red with good luster.The average yield is about 33.6 t · hm-2.Its resistance to CMV,TMV,Phytophthora blight and anthracnose in the field are stronger than that of the contrast‘Lunanbaopi’.It is suitable for protected areas,open fields in spring,and delayed planting in autumn in Huang-huai-hai ecological region,Guangdong,Guangxi,and Hubei Province,and autumn planting in Hainan Province.

    Abstract:In order to clarify the quality characteristics of screw pepper,the fl avor quality related indexes(types and contents of capsaicinoids,volatile compounds,etc)and some other quality indexes of smoothskinned pepper‘Sujiao No.9’(S9,as control)and 9 varieties of screw pepper fruits(green ripening stage) were determined,and comprehensive evaluation was conducted using membership function and principal component analysis(PCA)methods.The results showed that the capsaicinoids content of screw pepper varied,with the spiciness level of 7-8.A total of 222 volatile compounds were detected in 10 varieties of pepper,among which screw peppers were 28-62 more than smooth-skinned pepper(S9)and the average content was 55.19% higher.The main aroma types of screw pepper were green,floral and aldehydic,and the aroma-active compounds such as hexanal,(E)-2-Hexenal,octanal and 1-Octen-3-ol might be the key compounds to form the unique flavor of screw pepper.In addition,compared with smooth-skinned pepper S9,the fruit hardness of screw peppers were 36.44%-47.97% lower,and the vitamin C content were 17.09%-
    95.47% higher.The comprehensive evaluation results showed that the fruit quality score ranking of screw pepper was higher than that of smooth-skinned pepper(S9).Overall,screw pepper has the advantages of low hardness,high vitamin C content,rich volatile compounds and intense fl avor,and the fruit quality is better than smooth-skinned pepper.

    Abstract:In order to establish a practical quality evaluation system for fresh edible cucumber,this study took 31 cucumber varieties collected from 3 ecological types as test materials,carried out fl avor sensory index evaluation,and combined with nutritional quality index,comprehensive evaluation was carried out by principal component analysis method.The results showed that:among the North China type cucumber varieties,the flavor sensory evaluation of‘Shuyancuiyu’was the best,the comprehensive score was 30.83;among the South China cucumber varieties,‘Tangshan autumn cucumber’ flavor sensory evaluation was the best,the comprehensive score was 30.50;among the European greenhouse cucumber varieties,‘Lvyuanxingfu’flavor had the best sensory evaluation,with a comprehensive score of 30.65.Five principal components were obtained by principal component analysis,covering 77.612% of the original information.The comprehensive scores of 31 cucumber varieties were obtained by establishing a comprehensive quality evaluation model F =0.315F1 + 0.265F2 + 0.163F3 + 0.145F4 + 0.112F5.The South China cucumber variety‘ Tiantianzhai’,the North China cucumber variety‘ Shuyancuiyu’,and the European greenhouse cucumber variety‘ Thumb fruit cucumber’,scored the highest among their respective ecological types,which can be used as diff erent types of fresh cucumber varieties for selection and application.The results of this study provided theoretical basis and technical support for variety selection and quality evaluation of fresh cucumber.

    Vegetable is an important part of the ‘Vegetable Basket Project’.In 2023,the market price of vegetables basically conformed to the regularity of seasonal fluctuations throughout the year,with running at a high level,and the decline in vegetable prices in summer was not obvious as usual years.Affected by several cold-air outbreaks and compensatory rising factors,it is expected that the price of vegetables in winter and spring will rise significantly compared with previous years,and may remain high for a period of time after the Spring Festival.Considering that the overall price of vegetables in 2023 is high,the area in the field has increased than 2022,the supply of shelf-stable vegetables such as cabbage and radish exceeds demand,the vegetables in the northern facilities and the vegetables of ‘southern vegetables-northern transportation’ are on the market steadily,and the cold-air outbreak in some producing areas has been affected but the possibility of resuming supply is high,and it is expected that the supply of vegetables in the spring of 2024 will be generally guaranteed.Overall,in the context of loose total vegetable supply and optimal structure,it is recommended to accelerate the development of characteristic vegetables,optimize the layout of facility vegetables,promote green transformation,stabilize the supply chain,upgrade the industrial chain,and give full play to the important role of the vegetable industry in promoting rural revitalization.

    Gene editing is an emerging technology modifying biological traits by knocking out,replacing and inserting target genes.As an accurate and efficient genetic engineering method,gene editing technology has overcome the restriction of interspecific reproductive isolation on traditional breeding,influence of adverse gene linkage,and technical bottleneck of long breeding fixed number of years,etc.Therefore,it has huge application potential.This paper reviewed the development history of gene editing technology;summarized the research progress of gene editing technology in gene function and trait improvement of vegetable crops,including Solanaceae,Cruciferae,Cucurbitaceae,etc.;and discussed the difficulties and countermeasures in applying gene editing technology for different vegetable crops,so as to provide references for wide application of gene editing technology in vegetables.

    In order to select tomato varieties with excellent quality and suitable for consumer demand,15 palatable tomato varieties were used as materials to determine the relevant indexes of fruit commercial quality and nutritional quality,and the comprehensive quality of each variety was evaluated and compared by using the method of the affiliation function,correlation analysis of genetic variations,principal component analysis and cluster analysis.The results showed that there were large differences in quality and taste among the varieties;genetic variation and correlation analysis showed that quality traits such as soluble sugar content,sugar-acid ratio,total phenolic content and tomato taste were closely related;the results obtained by using principal component analysis had a high degree of similarity with those obtained by manual tasting evaluation and analysis by the subordinate function method,and three varieties with better overall quality were selected by combining the subordinate function method and the principal component analysis method P124,P190 and P209,with high taste evaluation scores,high nutrient contents of lycopene,VC,flavonoids and total phenols,high soluble sugar content and suitable sugar-acid ratio,good taste and rich flavor,and good promotion value.

    RT-PCR detection was carried out on suspected viral disease samples collected from Honghe,Yunnan Province,Yinchuan,Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and Shunyi,Beijing,by using 3 pairs of specific primers for Tomato brown rugose fruit virus(ToBRFV).Specific fragments with size as 812 bp,842 bp and 1 053 bp were amplified,respectively.Sequencing and phylogenetic analysis were conducted
    on these amplified products.We discovered that ToBRFV isolates from Yunnan,Ningxia and Beijing were clustered on the same branch as ToBRFV isolates from Jordan,Italy and the Netherlands.They were closer relatives.Pathogenic result displayed that after inoculation,tomato plants showed the same symptoms as in the fields.Moreover,ToBRFV was detected in the diseased tissues,indicating that tomato plants collected from Yunnan,Ningxia and Beijing were all infected by ToBRFV.

    ‘Jingfan 309’is a multi-resistant,pink-fruited tomato F1 hybrid with delicious taste,which is developed by crossing inbred line‘TB0286’as the female parent and the inbred line ‘TB0619’ as the male parent.The hybrid belongs to indeterminate growth type and is early-ripening.The fruit is round type with green shoulder.Its single fruit weight is 80-120 g.It tastes sour and sweet,with rich flavor and aroma.The soluble solids content is 7.1%,lycopene content is 31.0 mg · kg-1,and VC content is 158.2 mg · kg-1 .‘Jingfan 309’harbors Ty1,Ty3a,Mi-1 and Sm resistance loci.It is resistant to ToMV and gray leaf spot disease,high resistant to TYLCV and southern root knot nematode disease.Its yield is about 67.5 t · hm-2.It is suitable for protected cultivation in northern China,such as Beijing,Tianjin,Shandong,Hebei and Liaoning.

    This study analyzed the current fertilization status and fertilization effects on major leafy vegetables in China based on literature. The rates of nitrogen,phosphorus,potassium recommendation and the fertilization effects including the relative yield,the yield increase,the yield increase rate,the yield response,and agronomic efficiency of nutrients were discussed. The limiting factors affecting leafy vegetable yield are mainly nitrogen,followed by potassium,and then phosphorus. Recommended fertilization in leafy vegetables reduced the amount of nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizer,increased the amount of potassium fertilizer,while increased the yield compared to conventional fertilization used by farmers. Therefore,suitable fertilizer recommendation method for leafy vegetables is an effective way to save fertilizer and improve efficiency.

    Taking Guizhou semi-wild tomato GZ-01 as rootstock,red fruit tomato R and pink fruit tomato P as scion,this experiment used 20% PEG-6000 solution as simulate drought stress to treat un-grafted(R,P,GZ-01),grafted(RGZ-01,PGZ-01)and self-grafted(RR,PP)tomato plants;and carried out analysis on the growth physiological indexes,stomatal opening and closing,defense enzyme activity,active oxygen accumulation and expression of MAPKs and ABA synthesis related genes.The results showed that under drought treatment,GZ-01 rootstock could enhance the activities of defense enzymes and antioxidant enzymes in grafted plants;reduce open state proportion of stomata and H2O2 and O2-. accumulation in leaf blades;and induce the expression of MAPKs and ABA-related genes in grafted plants,so as to enhance the drought tolerance of grafted plants.Drought tolerance was related to scion plants,no matter it was strong or weak.

    In 2022,natural disasters occurred frequently in potato production of China.Potatoes in regions of Hebei Bashang and Inner Mongolia suffered severe frost disaster.Production in the affected areas was reduced by 10%-20%.In early stage of potato growth,potatoes at Ulanchap,Dingxi,Yulin,Xining,Haidong,and Enshi regions were encountered with high temperature and drought.In the later growth stage,rainfall increased in the northeast and northwest producing areas.Potato late blight occurrence was aggravated.Potato prices across the country were generally higher than usual for this time of year,except Guangdong Province.It is expected that national planting areas will increase slightly in 2023,and annual price will show a trend of first high and then low.

    Vegetable market supply is vital to the safe operation of cities.In order to effectively solve the problem of urban vegetable market supply in the extraordinary period,this paper comprehensively analyzed the problems existing in Shanghai vegetable supply and causes,from the first half of 2022 the actual vegetable supply status in Shanghai during COVID-19 epidemic;and put forward thoughts and suggestions for vegetable supply in building a ‘resilient city’ in the future.City managers should be prepared for adversity,fully understand the extreme importance of‘vegetable basket’project,strive to improve the vegetable circulation system.In responding to major emergencies and crises,we must fully consider the bottom line of people’s livelihood and their capacity,will work to coordinate policy synergy,avoid pulling each other down,and give full play to the power and role of market entities.

    Black rot is the main bacterial disease affecting cabbage production.To accelerate breeding process for resistance to black rot,55 cabbage accessions were screened for black rot resistance in the field between 2020 and 2021 in Ulanqab,Inner Mongolia,China.As a result,a set of black rot disease grading standard suitable for field identification was developed,and 8 black rot resistant accessions(DI < 30)were screened,including 2 highly resistant accessions ‘05-574’ and ‘20-2-5’.The establishment of this standard and the availability of resistant accessions provide a reference for accelerating the breeding of black rot resistance in cabbage.

    China has become the second largest producer of sweet corn.According to driving factors and limiting factors for sweet corn industry development,combined with official data and market comprehensive analysis,the prediction for sweet corn cultivated area in China will increase to 383 000 hm2 in 2026.The average annual growth rate(CAGR) will be 2.5%.In future,the planting ratio of high value sweet corn variety will gradually increase.According to market changing tendency,this paper classified the requirement details of varietal characters and cultivation characters by different market segments.This paper also put forward strategy and suggestions countering major problems and bottlenecks faced by development of sweet corn industry.

    Recently,large-scale terraced vegetable greenhouses are developing rapidly in China,and the degree of factorization is getting higher and higher.This paper expounded the development current status of large-scale terraced vegetable greenhouse in China from the aspects of industrial regional distribution,operation main body,greenhouse type,planting vegetable categories,etc.On the basis of analyzing the main problems facing factorization development of Chinese large-scale terraced vegetable greenhouses,this paper explored the future development trend,namely:the scale of development will continue to grow steadily;suitable innovation will become a new highlight;concentration of site selection will be further improved;connection with farmers will be more closely and gradually expand to the other vegetable segmentations.

    This study simulated the growth conditions required by each stage of cabbage propagation,and shortened the time period required by each stage to the minium.Therefor,the aim of completing two breeding generations in one year was realized.Taking seed becoming seedling as a nodal point,one year was devided into 2 cycles:summer-autumn cycle and winter-spring cycle.The period of summer-autumn cycle was slightly longer than that of winter-spring cycle,due to vernalization and flowering.Cultivating method of exfoliating immature ovules could shorten time duration from pollination to seedling and the best time for exfoliating immature ovules was 45-50 days after pollination.Under the condition of 4-7 ℃ vernalization temperature,almost all cabbage varieties could be vernalized within 60 days,except for varieties with strong winterness.This method was only suitable for cabbage male sterility transfer.Basically,varieties without stronger winterness could breed two generations within one year.With SSR markers assisting selection,the backcross female parent for next generation could be accurately determined.

    Based on the data from China Pesticide Information Network,combined with the garlic related indicators of newly revised National Standards for Food Safety - Maximum Residue Limits for Pesticides in Food(GB 2763—2021),this paper combed the pesticides registered on garlic;and carried out statistical analysis on categories,quantities,control objects,dosage forms and toxicities,etc.The registered pesticides on garlic were focus on herbicides,followed by insecticides,and there was a serious shortage of fungicides. Only 18 effective components of the registered pesticides on garlic set a limit on quantity.The dosage forms of the registered esticides were relatively obsolescence and could not meet garlic requirements for “nutrient balance,pro-environment and healthy”,being unfavorable to green agricultural development and ecological environment security.There were still deficiencies in registrating esticide toxicity,needed to be improved.The paper suggested under the guidance of the 3 Directories to strengthen technical research,simplify registration procedures,speed up the pace of pesticide registration procedure,accelerate the pace of pesticide registration on garlic,and solve the issue of serious shortage pesticides for garlic pest control.

    In order to clarify the pathogen species of pepper anthracnose in Nanxiong County,Shaoguan City,Guangdong Province and screen fungicides that can effectively inhibit the pathogen,this study isolated and purified the anthrax pathogen from the fruits of Chaotian pepper with suspected natural anthracnose sympton,collected from open fields of Hukou Town,Nanxiong County by tissue separation method,and the pathogen species were identified by microbial morphology combined with multi-gene phylogenetic tree analysis.Then,fungicides that could efficiently control this pathogen were screened by indoor toxicity test.The results showed that the pathogen of the isolated strain NX-1 was Colletotrichum scovillei.Among 12 fungicides,prochloraz and difenoconazole·propiconazole had the strongest inhibitory effect on the pathogen,with EC50 values of 0.019 6 μg · mL-1 and 0.282 8 μg · mL-1,respectively.Imidazole fungicide prochloraz can be used as the first choice chemist for controlling pepper anthracnose in Nanxiong,or be used alternatively
    with benzyl propiconazole.

    In order to restrain the occurrence of bacterial diseases of hydroponic fast-growing cabbage caused by high temperature during summer,this experiment took‘Jingyankuaicai No.4’as test material,adopted the method of introducing ozone aeration into the circulating nutrient solution and studied the suppression condition of bacterial diseases of fast-growing cabbage by different frequencies of ozone disinfection and effects on yield and quality.The results showed that along with the increase of ozone introducing frequency,the bacteria contents in nutrient solution significantly decreased.And incidence of soft rot disease in fast-growing cabbage also decreased gradually.Different frequencies of ozone treatments could all reduce significantly the microbial species in nutrient solution.Introducing ozone into nutrient solution had promote of growth and quality on fast-growing cabbage plants.Among them,T2(pass once every 3 days,10 min each time)had the best comprehensive effects.The fresh and dry weights of above-ground part,soluble sugar content,and soluble protein content of fast-growing cabbage plants were all significantly higher than that of the contrast.
