1 Effect of Temperature on Photosynthetic Characteristics of Ginger Leaf

The result showed that ginger leaves indicated the highest photosynthetic rate and apparent quantum efficiency under 25℃ in product forming stage. The photosynthetic rate of ginger leaves increased with the increasing of PFD and CO 2 concentration in certain range. Light compensation point of photosynthesis was in the range of 25~69μmol·m -2 ·s -1 ,it increased with the increasing of temperature. 3 Application of Chemical Formulations and Film Bags in Storage of Strawberry

Effects of eight chemical formulations and five types of films on postharvest ripening and rot of strawberry were assessed. Fruits were dipped in 2.0% CaCl 2 solution containing 100mg/kg gi bberellin and 0.2% citric acid then stored at 2℃ for 15 days. The chemical formulation increased fruit firmness and kept fruit and leaf color. Type I film bag was highly effective in maintaining firmness,soluble solids,fresh weight,and preventing gray mold rot. 4 Predicting Models of Strawberry Damage by Impaction

The regularity of the strawberry damage by impaction was studied. The mathematical model of strawberry damage was established,which could be used to predict the practical damage of strawberries at the same conditions. 6 Effects of Culture Density on the Yield of Shoots and its Growth in Asparagus

Three densities of Asparagus:①35cm×100cm,②35cm×150cm and ③35cm×200cm were tested for yield and growth. The results of five years indicated that the mean annual yield of young stem for density of 35cm×100cm was 23.1% and 55.6% higher than those of 35cm×150cm and 35cm×200cm treatments,respectively. During five year tests,yield of shoots increased each year. Shoot number above ground,plant height and index of growth decreased with increment of densities.

7 The Test of Grafting Bitter Gourd on Luffa

Grafting-bitter gourd on Luffa rootstock showed a good compatibility,81.5% seedling survived. The grafted plants grew vigorously at late stage,gave high quality of fruits and increased resistance to nematode. The yield of grafted plants concentrated on later stage was 38.4% higher than that of non-grafted bitter gourd.

Xinmi No 13’ is a cantaloup F 1 hybrid. Its parental lines were selected from a local variety ‘Hongxincui’ and a variety introduced from Europe. The fruit skin of ‘Xinmi No. 13’ is golden with fine and dense net. The fruit shape is elliptical. Flesh is orange,sweet and crisp,and have good quality. The single fruit weight is over 3kg. 11 Breeding of a New Early Maturing Cucumber Cultivar ‘Huahuanggua No. 1’ Suitable for Spring and Autumn

Huahuanggua No. 1’ is a F 1 hybrid developed with inbred 8624 crossing with inbred 8601. It can be grown in Spring and Autumn. The yield of the hybrid was 67500 kg/ha. The high yield could be about 90000 kg/ha. It has high resistance to downy midew and powdery mildew. It has been excended about 8000 ha in 18 provinces.
