8 Heterosis and Parent-offspring Correlation on Yield and Fruit Characters of Chieh-qua

Chuanku No.6 is a new bitter gourd F_1 hybrid developed by crossing high female line Q01 with inbred line 03038. It takes 80-85 days from sowing to harvest. The fruit has a good flavor and light bitter taste. The average fruit weight is 0.4-0.6 kg. Average yield is 60 t·hm~ -2 .Its resistance to powdery mildew and Fusarium wilt is stronger than Sichuanchangbaikugua. It has been extented to Sichuan, Chongqing, Hunan, Hubei, Guizhou and Jiangsu for 600 hm~2.
