experiment at different lay and diamentionality.The paper also discussed about the rational exploitation and
utilization of garlic,and prospect of drug and diet industry.

22 Research Progress on Potato Dry Rot Disease in China and Its Control Measures

Potato dry rot is a fungous disease occurred during potato growing and storaging periods.
It infects potato tuber easily,and has great impact on its yield and quality.Potato dry rot is one of the key
issues restricting the development of potato industry.This paper summarized the symptoms,transmission,
pathogenic mechanism and identification methods of potato dry rot disease,and its occurrence situation and
species distribution in China.The measures for controlling potato dry rot were also concluded,hoping to lay a
theoretical foundation for future research activities and control of this disease.

30 Correlation Analysis Between Heterosis of Yield Traits and Genetic Distance Evaluated by Genome-wide SNP Markers in Pepper

In order to explore the possibility of predicting pepper yield heterosis based on SNP marker
molecular genetic distance,and realizing early prediction of pepper heterosis and screening strong heterosis
combinations,this paper took 12 pepper inbred lines as parents,and compared the relationship between
molecular genetic distance and yield heterosis based on genome-wide SNP markers by 2 methods of individual
analysis and grouping analysis.Eight inbred lines from 12 inbred lines were chosen at random in individual
analysis.It was found that there were irregular changes between genetic distance and yield heterosis.62.5%
of the inbred lines were accorded with the rule of the farther the genetic distance was,the stronger the heterosis
was.In grouping analysis,it was found that along with the increase of genetic distance,the heterosis value
showed an upward trend on the whole,indicating the bigger the genetic distance between pepper parents,the
greater possibility of obtaining high yield and strong heterosis combination.The genetic distance based on SNP
markers could be used to predict the heterosis of their offspring.

36 Inheritance and Transcriptome Analysis of alb1 Gene in Albino Pod Mutant of Cabbage

This paper studied the characteristics of albino seed pod in cabbage alb1 by paraffin section
technique.The results showed that the cells were abnormal in morphology development,cell walls were
deformed and cell boundaries were not obvious.The results of genetic analysis showed that the separation
ratio of green pod to albino pod was 3∶1,indicating that this albino seed pod trait is controlled by a single
recessive gene.The differential expression in albino pod mutant alb1 and green pod Chinese kale TO1000 were
analyzed by high-throughput RNA-sequencing.A total of 4 530 genes were differentially expressed between
alb1 and TO1000.Among them,2 569 were up-regulated genes and 1 961 were down-regulated genes.
These differentially expressed genes were mainly involved in ribosome,plant hormone signal transduction
and fatty acid elongation.Plant hormone signal transduction was especially important for construction of cell
morphology,which might be the important reason for cell development malformation and emergence of albino
seed pod.

41 Studies on Promoting Cucumber Seedling Growth and Controlling Cucumber Fusarium Wilt by Biocontrol Bacteria Substrate

Four kinds of biocontrol bacteria NSY4,NSY19,NSY50,DSN012 with measurable
restraining effect on cucumber Fusarium wilt were screened from 15 biocontrol bacterias by slab opposing
method.Taking cucumber( Cucumis sativus L. cv Jinyan No. 4) as test material,this paper studied the effects
of 4 biocontrol bacteria substrates on cucumber growth and Fusarium wilt control.The results showed that
biocontrol bacteria substrate NSY4 could significantly increase the plant height of cucumber seedling,fresh
weight of above ground part,fresh weight of underground part,dry weight of above ground part,and total
root length and root volume,by 42.86%,26.09%,47.06%,58.82%,57.58% and 51.44% respectively,
comparing with the CK-no adding of biocontrol bacteria.In addition,the enzyme activity of matrix in
cucumber rhizosphere was significantly higher than that of the CK.Compared with the CK,the invertase,
urease,phosphatase and catalase activity increased by 16.20%,37.60%,71.88% and 5.22%,respectively.
The numbers of bacteria and actinomycetes in the treatment of adding biocontrol bacteria matrix were
significantly increased.While,the numbers of fungi and Fusarium oxysporum were reduced.The control
effect on cucumber Fusarium wilt had reached 25.00%-62.50%.Therefore,inoculating biocontrol bacteria
matrix could promote cucumber plant growth and reduce incidence rate of cucumber Fusarium wilt.Treatment
of adding biocontrol bacteria NSY4 to substrate could significantly promote cucumber plant growth,
effectively alleviate the damage of Fusarium oxysporum,and had the best control effect on cucumber
Fusarium wilt.

48 Effects of Chemical Fertilizer Replacing Organic Fertilizer Ratio on Active Organic Carbon and Enzymatic Activity in Yellow Loam Soil

In order to definite the effects of different proportion of chemical fertilizer replacing organic
fertilizer on active organic carbon and enzyme activity in yellow loam soil in Guizhou Province under equivalent
fertilization conditions,this paper took typical yellow loam soil samples from Guizhou Province as research
object and studied the effects on soil total organic carbon(TOC),dissolved organic carbon(DOC),readily
oxidized carbon(ROC),microbial biomass carbon(MBC),and soil cellulase,invertase,urease,acid
phosphatase activity,and pepper yield by 6 treatments of mixing compound fertilizer with chemical fertilizer
and organic fertilizer.These treatments included no fertilization(CK),100% chemical fertilizer(T1),70%
chemical fertilizer + 30% organic fertilizer(T2),50% chemical fertilizer + 50% organic fertilizer(T3),
30% chemical fertilizer + 70% organic fertilizer(T4),and 100% organic fertilizer(T5).The results showed
that replacing chemical with organic fertilizer could increase the soil TOC,DOC,ROC,and MBC contents.
Compared with T1,the TOC,DOC,ROC and MBC contents were increased by 15.45%-55.82%,20.29%-
91.30%,34.85%-51.21%,37.78%-71.11%,respectively.While,the organic carbon pool management index
(CMI) was increased by 36.95%-53.78%.The soil cellulase,sucrase and urease activity all showed the
trend of increasing first then decreasing,and soil acid phosphatase activity showed a continual boosting trend
along with the increase of replacing proportion of organic fertilizer.Compared with the CK,fertilization could
significantly improve pepper yield.The pepper yield was the highest in T2(50% chemical fertilizer + 50%
organic fertilizer),reaching 25 765.63 kg·hm-2,obviously 13.90%-49.36% higher than the other fertilization
treatments.On the whole,replacing chemical fertilizer with organic fertilizer can increase the active organic
carbon content,soil organic carbon pool management index,microbial activity and pepper yield of yellow
soil.From the perspective of improving soil carbon sequestration and yield-increasing effect,the application
rate of 50% chemical fertilizer + 50% organic fertilizer is the recommended fertilization measure.

56 Studies on Irrigation Decision in Substrate Culture of High Quality Tomato

This study designed 3 treatments including optical radiation,matrix moisture content + return
EC sensor,and time sequence irrigation decision,to investigate irrigation decision for substrate cultivation
of high quality tomato,through monitoring tomato plant height,stem diameter,yield,quality and matrix
moisture content.The results showed that tomato growth vigor and yield based on optical radiation and matrix
moisture content + return EC sensor irrigation decision were superior to that by time sequence method.The fruit
sugar acid ratio was raised by 60.8% and 54.3%,respectively;lycopene contents were increased by 14.9% and
18.6%,respectively;irrigation fluid production efficiency were increased by 39.6% and 49.6%,respectively.
Thus,the compositive and automatic irrigation decision for high quality tomato has provided model support for
realization of intelligent water/fertilizer management.

61 Genetic Analysis on Seed Size and Single Seed Weight in Bitter Gourd(Momordica charantia L.)

The bitter gourd inbred lines ‘K7-359’(P1) and ‘K7-422’(P2)were taken as female and
male parents,respectively,to produce F1 and F2 populations.Major gene plus polygene mixed inheritance
model was used to perform genetic analysis for seed length,seed width and single seed weight of bitter gourd.
Results showed that the inheritance of seed length and single seed weight were consistent with the polygenic
genetic model with additive-dominant-epistasis effect(C-0 model).The polygenic heritability were 84.91%
and 76.55%,respectively,indicating that selection of seed length and single seed weight should be carried out
in high generation.The inheritance of seed width was fitted to one pair of additive-dominant major gene plus
additive-dominant-epistasis polygene model(D-0 model).The heritabilities of main gene and polygene were
79.30% and 3.86%,respectively,and genetic effect of major gene is mainly ascribed to the additive effect,
indicating combination breeding strategy could be used for genetic improvement of bitter gourd seed width,and
it was suitable to conduct selection on early generation.

67 Studies on Histocytology of Potato Tuber Shape Development

Tuber shape is one of the important agronomic characters of potato.Potato tuber shape has
confirmed at the early stage of tuber development.In order to study the internal morphological changes of long
and round tubers,this paper selected tubers formed in 4 different periods,including stem stalk hook period,
apical bulging period,early tuber formation period,and tuber formation period to make paraffin sections to
conduct histocytological observation.The result shows that the differences in cell layers of medullary tissue
during stem stalk hook period might be the main reason leading to long or round different tuber shapes.The
stem stalk hook period might be the key period causing differences in tuber shapes.

74 Investigation and Preliminary Identification of Pathogeny Species of Pepper Virus Disease in Guangxi

This paper conducted initial investigation on occurrence situation of pepper virus disease in 9
cities and counties of Guangxi,and identified 8 kinds of common vegetable viruses from 75 suspected infected
pepper samples by double antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay( DAS-ELISA).The results
showed that the virus diseases occurred in southern and centre Guangxi were generally more severe than in
western and north Guangxi.There were 75 pepper samples reacting positive,among them the infection of
Chilli veinal mottle virus (ChiVMV) was very common.The total detection rate was the highest,reaching
63.38%.It was the prevalent pathogenic virus in Guangxi.The detection rates of Pepper vein mottle virus
(PVMV),Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV),Pepper mild mottle virus (PMMoV) and Chilli ring spot virus
(ChiRSV) were 56.34%,43.66%,35.21% and 33.80%,respectively.Among the 75 positive samples,
87.32% samples were mix-infected by over 2 viruses.Among them,the mixed infections by 2 or 3 viruses
were 32.39% and 29.58%,respectively.Among the mixed infections by 2 kinds of viruses,ChiVMV+CMV
and PVMV+PMMoV were the most common,all holding 21.74%.Among the mixed infections by 3 kinds of
viruses,the mixed infection of ChiVMV+CMV+PVMV was the most common,accounting for 23.81%.

80 Control Effect of Applying Biocontrol Bacteria Mode on Pakchoi Club Root Disease

Taking pakchoi variety‘Xiamanduo’as test material,this paper studied the control effect
of biocontrol bacteria(live spores 10 billion · g-1 Bacillus subtilis WP)combining with soil conditioner as a
comprehensive treatment model on club root disease by fi eld experimental method.The results showed that the
treatment of B.subtilis coating agent+soil coditioner+300-fold diluents of B. subtilis irrigating root had the best
eff ect on controlling club root disease,reaching 93.56%.The incidence rate and disease index of club root
disease were all remarkably lower than that of the other treatments.While the biomass of pakchoi and control
eff ect of club root disease were all signifi cantly higher than that of the other treatments.

84 A New Loose-curd Cauliflower Variety —‘Yousong 58’

‘Yousong 58’ is an early-maturing and loose-curd cauliflower F1 hybrid bred by crossing
cytoplasmic male sterile line‘ HZ-28’ as female parent and inbred line‘ HL-94’ as male parent.It takes about
60 days from transplanting to harvesting in autumn open fields in North China.The plant is of semi erect type
with strong growth potential.The leaves are of oval type,dark green in color with wavy leaf margin.Its
head is hemispherical,white in color with smooth sphere and green stalks.It tastes sweet and tender,and the
quality is excellent.Its single head weight is about 1.0 kg.Its average yield under conventional cultivation is
over 30 t · hm-2.In fields,its resistance to black rot and downy mildew is stronger than that of the contrast‘ Jinsong
62’.It is suitable for open field cultivation in autumn in Beijing,Tianjin,Hebei,Henan,Shandong,
Anhui,etc. Provinces.

87 A New Radish F1 Hybrid —‘Shuluo No.11’

‘Shuluo No.11’ is a new radish F1 hybrid bred by crossing Ogura cytoplasmic male sterile line
‘C72179A’ as female parent and inbred line ‘C61510’ as male parent.It is an autumn and winter radish
variety.It takes about 80 days from sowing to maturity and is of mid-maturing type.The plant type is
outspreading with 16-18 leaf numbers.It is suited for dense planting.Its leaves are light green in color
and have no cleft.The root is of round shape with about 11 cm vertical diameter and about 12 cm transverse
diameter.The root is bright white in color with smooth peel and good commodity characteristics.The single
root weight is about 1.0 kg and root-to-shoot ratio is about 3.7.This variety is resistant to hollowness.It can
averagely yield about 75 t · hm-2.Its flesh is white,tender and crisp.The contents of dry matter and soluble
sugar are higher.It is suitable for cooking and processing.In fields,its resistance to club root disease is
stronger than that of the control ‘Shuluo No.9’.It is suitable for autumn and winter cultivation in plain,low
hills and regions with similar ecological conditions in southwest China.

Abstract:‘Bibowanqing’ is a new asparagus bean(Vigna unguiculata ssp. sesquipedalis)variety bred
by genealogy method from the variant‘ Majiang’ with chemical mutagenesis of colchicine.‘Bibowanqing’ is a
rambler plant.It is of medium maturity with strong growth vigor.Its plant height is 315.5 cm.The first flower
sets on the 5th node of its stem.It takes 65 days from seedling emergence to first harvest.It has good and
successive podding ability.The commodity pod is shining green in color.The pod is 85-90 cm in length,about 1.1
cm in width.The average single fruit weight is 33.2 g.It can yield about 42 t · hm-2.It is tolerant to picking.
In fields,its resistances to virus disease,rust and powdery mildew are stronger than that of the contrast‘ A8’.
It is suitable for open fields cultivation at all parts of the country.

Abstract:‘Guinuo 610’ is a F1 hybrid of early-maturing fresh waxy corn bred by crossing inbred line
‘GNL1031’ as female parent and inbred line‘ GNL1109’ as male parent.It is 229 cm in plant height and 90
cm in ear height.Its ear is of post-box type,16.0-18.0 cm in length and 5.0-5.4 cm in diameter.There are
12-16 rows in each ear and 36-40 kernels per row.Its kernel is white in color with tidiness lines and beautiful
appearance.Its peel is thin and non-slag with good waxy and superior quality.The average yield is about
11.55 t · hm-2.It has high and stable yielding ability.It takes 77 days from seedling emerge to harvesting after
spring sowing and 67 days after autumn sowing.In fields,it is highly resistant to stem rot,bacterial wilt,
northern leaf blight,southern leaf blight,sheath blight and rust disease.It is suitable to be planted in Guanxi
and southeastern fresh corn areas.
