6 Studies on Genetic Relationships among Mici Cucumber Cultivars of Shandong Province
Wang Zhifeng;Sun Xiaolei;Sun Rifei;et al.
In this study, cluster analysis among 15 Mici cucumber cultivars was applied with 15 morphological characters and 11 pairs of AFLP primers. Cluster analysis based on morphological characters classified all cultivars into 3 groups. Xintaimici, Changchunmici, Shandongmici were in the same sub-groups. The genetic distance based on AFLP ranged from 0.033 to 0.686. AFLP analysis classified all cultivars into 8 main groups. Xintaimici and Shandongmici showed a very close relationship.

9 The Influence of Different AM Fungi Inoculation on the Vegetative Growth and Reproduction of Tomato
Zhu Honghui;Yao Qing;Yang Songzhen
Tomato plants were inoculated with 5 AM fungi in seedling trays, in order to compare the influence of different AM fungi species on vegetative growth and reproduction after transplanting. Results indicated that all 5 AM fungi species could increase seedling biomass to different extent, with the highest increase of 97.2 %. Flower numbers were also increased due to the inoculation. All of 5 AM fungi species could improve plant uptake of P, but not for N and K. Generally,Glomus mosseae, Glomus versiforme and G...

12 The Growth and Flowering Stalk Formation of Brassica campestris L. ssp. chinensis (L.) Makino var. utilis Tsen et Lee
Guan Peicong;Liu Houcheng;Chen Riyuan;et al.
The growth and flowering stalk formation of early-maturity cultivar (Sijiu Caixin) and mid-maturity cultivar (60 Tianteqingcaixin) with two sowing dates were studied. The results showed that there was a little difference in the course of growth and development between two cultivars. However the fresh and dry weight, leaf number and area, net assimilating rate (NAR) both increased gradually, the increase extent and NAR was highest at flowering-stalk formation stage. Dry matter were mostly distributed to leaf...

15 Inteferent Effect of Some Plant Extracts and Pesticides on the Growth and Development of Myzus persicae and Lipaphis erysimi (Kaltenbach)
Zhou Qiong;Liang Guangwen;Zeng Ling
The effect of Xanthium sibiricum and Syngonium podophyllum alcohol extracts, petroleum spray lils and 0.3 % Azadirachtin water-in-oil emulsion on the poprlation of Myzus persicae and Lipaphis erysimi were experimented in laboratory. The two plans extracts and the pesticides could reduced the survival rate of the 1st instar nymph of the tested aphids. The seguence of effect on M. persicae 0.3 % Azadirachtin water-in-oil emulsion(2 000×)>X. sibiricum extracts (DW 0.04 g·mL -1)>petroleum spray oils(4...

18 Effects of Hypoxia Stress on Root Respiration Metabolic Activity of Cucumber Seedlings
Ma Yuehua;Guo Shirong
The effect of hypoxia stress on seedlings of two cucumber cultivars, Zhongnong 8 sensitive and Baoyou 1 tolerant, were investigated in order to figure out the variations of several important respiratory enzymes and root respiratory activity under hopoxia stress. The results indicated that activities of alcohol dehydratase (ADH), lactate dehydratase (LDH), nitrate reductase (NR) in root were all induced under hypoxia (O 2 1.5 mg·L -1). ADH, NR activities and root respiration rate of Baoyou 1 were higher th...

27 A New Bitter Gourd F_1 Hybrid—‘Hengza No.2’
Xiao Changhua;Kuang bifeng;Yu Ximao;et al.
engza No.2’is a new bitter gourd F 1 hybrid developed by crossing two self lines B 06 and B 02-5. The plants grow vigorously with high resistance to virus. Fruit is a large straight cylinder with glossy green skin. Average fruit weight is about 500 g with 30-50 cm in length and 6-7 cm in diameter. It is early-middle maturity with average yield of 45 t·hm -2.

29 A New Asparagus Bean Variety—‘Zhujiang No.1’
Lu Wenjia;Zheng Jinrong;Li Yujun;et al.
Zhujiang No.1 is developed by system selection of Jieshang No.2. It is medium maturity and it takes 58 days in spring and 43 days in autumn from sowing to the first harvest. The first pod is on the 5.3th node. The pods are long, round shaped, light green, smooth and glossy, with 59.8 cm in length, 0.82 cm in diameter and 25.8 g in weight. Commercial pod rate is 94.5 %. The flesh of pod is firm and less fibre, good quality. The seeds are black. It is high resistant to wilt and tolerant to rust, strong tolera...
