Abstract ‘Guinongkeyu No.1’is a new bitter gourd cultivar developed by 60Co-γ radiation and molecular marker assisted selection induced strong female strain‘MC1-1-12’.It has strong vigorous growth potential.The main and lateral vines can bear melon and the ability of sustained fruiting is strong.The fruit is short stick shape,light yellow in color,mainly with strips and round nodules,moderate bitterness.It is about 25.40 cm in length,7.10 cm in width,1.10 cm in flesh thickness,and 450 g in individual fruit weight.The commodity rate is more than 92%.The general cultivation yield is about 48 t · hm-2 .It takes about 65 days from sowing to first harvesting,early maturity.It is resistant to powdery mildew,and medium resistant to Fusarium wilt.The VC content is 1 021.60 mg · kg-1 ,polypeptide content is 0.42 mg · g-1 ,and saponins content is 16.85 mg ·g-1 .It is suitable for spring and autumn cultivation in open field or facility cultivation in south China.
