Abstract Anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum spp. is one of the main diseases in pepper（Capsicum spp.）production．Cultivating varieties resistant to anthracnose is an important breeding objective．On the basis of reviewing the pathogeny，harm，prevention and control， and artificial identification methods of anthracnose，this paper retrospected studies on the anthracnose resistant papper resources，resistance inheritance and location，resistance mechanism，etc.；summarized and prospectd the present existing problems and future development direction，hoping to provide references for studies on papper resistance to anthracnose．
