2 The Selection of New Autumn Cabbage Hybrid Zhonggan No. 9

Zhonggan No. 9 is a new early autumn hybrid of cabbage. It can be harvested about 85 days after transplanting. It has high resistanee to both TuMV and black rot. The plant expansion is 60~ 70cm, the out leaves are 15~ 18, It is a dark green and the round head cabbage.The head weight is about 3.0kg, the compactness is 0.52~ 0.55. the leaves are delicate and tender, the flavor is good, the durability of storage is promising. The yield of the hybrid is 82.5~90.0 t / ha.

3 A New Early Spring Cabbage F_1 Hybrid─ Chunbao

A new spring cabbage F1 hybrid─ Chunbao , was bred by crossing two self-incompatible lines of 441591 and 87123. It has pointed head, early maturity, tolerance to bolting, high yield and good quality. It is 3~ 5 days earlier and 60% higher in yield than that of Niuxin (the popular cultivar).The average yield is 30~ 52.5t/ ha and has been grown in region of Yangtze River over 2000 ha.

6 Studies on Fertilizer Application Levels of Seedling Stage of Eggplant Raised with Mixed Media

When eggplant seedlings were raised in mixed media (peat, vermiculite and cinder), the plant growth, dry matter accumulation and uptake amount of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium increased with fertilizer application levels. The plant height, dry matter accumulation and uptake amount of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium were nearly maximum when the fertilizer application level reached 2800g /m ̄3.Therefore, 2800g/m ̄3 was optimum for raising seedlings with mixed media.

7 Studies on Storage of Seeds with Ultra-low Moisture Content in Chinese Cabbage

Chinese cabbage (87-3) seeds, with five levels of moisture content 5%~1 %.were stored for three years in four temperature (-20℃, 4℃, room temperature, 40℃ )respectively and their viability were measured in this experiment.
