1 Effect of Chilling Temperature on POD,Esterase and SOD in Tomato during Seedling and Florescence
Wang Xiaoxuan;Li Shude;Dong Huiru et al.
The effect of low temperature on isoenzymic zymogram of peroxidase (POD),esterase and superoxide dismutase (SOD) during seedling stage and florescence was studied. The results show that, the reaction of SOD,POD and esteras e to low temperature was different, the sensitivity of POD and esterase to temperature was higher than that of SOD,and lower in florescence than in seedling stage. The zymogram of SOD was same for the six varities under all temperature trestments, the number

2 Study on Browning Degree (B. D) and Polyphenoloxidase (P. P. O) Activity of Lotus Rhizome during the Storage
Wang Qingzhang;Liu Huaichao;Sun Jie
Effects of different conditions of lotus rhizome states, inhibitor and temperature on lotus rhizome s B. D. and P. P. O. activity were investigated. Results show that B. D. of lotus rhizome was the lowest under the conditions of low temperature, lotus rhizome with ends cut,0.25% (w/v) ascorbic acid or 0.05% (w/v) sodium sulfite mixed with 0.2% (w/v) citric acid. The P. P. O. activity was weakened with the storage time.

4 Comparison of Biopotassium and Chemical Potassium Using in Grey Desert Vegetable Soil
Sheng Bin;Jiang Tao
Grey desert soil has rich total potassium, but is short of available potassium. Using biopotassium and chemical potassium in grey desert vegetable soil can evidently promote growth enhance the ability of disease resistance increase early yield and total yield of vegetable crops and maintain or raise available P and K in soil. And application of biopotassium has several advantages such as low cost and no destroying of soil stracture as compared with chemical potassium.

5 Effect of Fertilizers on Yield of Watermelon —— a Mathematical Model Study
Zhang Xiang;Zhu Hongxun;Sun Chunhe et al.
With the design of the current rotation regression combination, the high yield mathema tical model on watermelon was studied,in which N,P and K were supplying factors, watermelon yield was objective funcation. According to the objective funcation, the most suitable amounts of fertilization for yield were as follows:N 210kg/ha,P 2O 5 80kg/ha,K 2O 175kg/ha,under this circumstance, the yield was 47175.9kg/ha,the profit was 26 910.5 yuan/ha. In addition, the single factor effects of N,P,K and their interact...

6 Physiological Specialization of Tomato Bacterial Wilt Pathogen ( Pseudomonas solanacearum Smith) in Chengdu and Identification of the Resistance of Tomato Varieties
Shuai Zhengbin;Su Jialie;Luo Xiaobo

Twenty two isolates of the pathogen from tomato in Chengdu were tested for physiological races. The results indicated that they were race 1. Based on the variation of pathogenical abilities to different hosts, the 22 isolates were distinguished in 4 pathogenic types. Inoculated respectively with 3 strains from different geographic regions,6 main tomato varieties in Chengdu were identified as high susceptible ones to the pathogen.

7 An Early Maturing and High Yielding Bitter Gourd F 1 Hybrid —‘Cuilü No. 1’
Zhou Weibo;Luo Shaobo;Luo Jianning et al.
Cuilü No. 1 is a F 1 hybrid of crossing early gynoecious line No. 19 with line Jiangxuan 105. This F 1 hybrid has early maturity, high productivity, good quality and high resistance to stress. It was 10~15 days earlier and 91.5% higher in early yield and 38.1% higher in total yield than that of Jingmen broad shoulder bitter gourd (the popular cultivar). The yield was 30t per ha. Average weight per fruit was 0.4kg. It is suitable to grow in south China in spring and fall.

8 Selection of New Processing Tomato F 1 Hybrid‘Xinfan No. 4’
Wang Lei;Shi Ying;Tian Shuping et al.
Xinfan No. 4 (Originally called Xinhong 718)is a processing tomato F 1 hybrid. It was crossed by inbred lines from‘Introducing-6’and‘Meidong’. Its plants are determinate and grow vigo rously. It contains 5.65% soluble solid,12.63mg/100g pectin and average weight per fruit was 71.38g. The yield was 75~105t/ha,higher than checks‘Hongmanao 140’and‘UC-82’. It resistant to TMV,tolerant to CMV. Its fruit was more firm. Up to 1995,it has been extended more than 333 ha in Xinjiang.

9 Selection of ‘Yushu No. 1 Potato’ —— a New Variety with Disease Resistance,High Yield and Good Quality
Wu Huanzhang;Cui Xingchun;Jin Fu
Potato Variety Yushu No. 1 has been selected from the progeny which was crossing with Gaoyuan No. 7 and No. 762-93. The Variety has early maturity, high yield, resistant to disease and deterioration. It can be harvested 65 days after planting. The tuber s yield is 33.7t/ha in spring,22.5t/ha in autumn. The tuber has good quality and commercial characters,is suitable to export and process. Yushu No. 1 can be grown in plains for double cropping or mountainous district for single cropping.
