5 Identification of Rootknot Nematode (M.spp) on Tomato in Heilongjiang Province and the Screening of Resistant Materials

This experiment investigated rootknot nematodes on tomato in Heilongjiang province in 1997-1998. Nematodes happened seriously only in greenhouse in Daqing. Morphological identification showed that this nematode was Meloidogyne incognita. The identifying technique of tomatos seedling resistance to rootknot nematode is that 30 days seedling inoculated 5 000 individuals per plant in 10 cm deep. 6 Studies on Conditions for Sporulation and Inoculation of Uredospores of Cowpea Rust Pathogen

The uredospores of cowpea rust pathogen,Uromyces vignae,were tested for their conditions of sporulation and inoculation. Successful sporulations were always obtained when the uredospores were incubated on sterilized tap or distilled water,1 % glucose,1 % sucrose,leaf extract of cowpea seedlings or surface of separating leaves. 9 Effect of Dryheat Treatment on Seeds Vigour Seeds of Radish

The effect of dryheat treatment at 76 with various time and moisture content on seeds vigour of Radish was studied. The results showed that the effect of dryheat treatment at 76 were not significant on germination rate for different basis moisture content of Radish seeds,but significant on seed vigour,seedling length and vigour index of seeds. Yubaicai No.8 is a new early maturity F1 hybrid by crossing two selfincompatible lines,An 16 and Xia 23. The variety has multiple disease resistances,high quality,early maturity,high yield and good marketing characteristics. It can be harvested in 5560 days after sowing. The yield is about 58.7670.66 thm-2. Its yield and commercial quality were much better than Xiaoza 56 and 898.

14 Breeding of New Pea Variety Shijiatiancuiwan No.1 for Edible Pods

Shijiatiancuiwan No.1 was developed by pedigree selection from cross of Zhongshanqin and Shijiadacaiwan No.1. It has the characteristics of early maturity,high yield,good quality and excellent marketability. Its fresh pods yield 11.4-13.5 thm-2. The plant is 74 cm high with white flower and dark green pods. One hundred pods weighs about 850 g. It can be harvested 150 days after sowing in Sichuan basin,and 90 days in Yunnan,Guangxi and Fujian.
