4 Effects of Different Composts on the Main Soil and Environmental Factors of Greenhouse and Development of Tomato
Wu Chuncheng;Li Tianlai;Ma Ningning
The main factors of soil and environment of solar greenhouse and development of tomato were investigated with straw, mushroom residue and fresh chicken manure. The results showed that a higher CO_2 concentration of the greenhouse air was maintained during the stage of tomato growth. The number of microorganism and the content of nutrient in soil was improved obviously. The growth and yield of tomato increased while the quality of fruit was improved no-significantly.

7 The Growth and Leaf Head Formation in Brassica juncea var. capitata Bailey
Guan Peicong;Liu Houcheng;Luo Guanying
There were four stages (germination, seedling, leaf growth and leaf head formation) during head mustard growth from sowing to harvest. The fresh and dry weight of top plant, root, outer leaf and leaf head increased gradually, following a single-peak curve. The fresh weights of leaf head was 48.2 % of total plant fresh weight. The 1st-5th expanded leaves played important role in seedling and leaves growth, and 5th-9th expanded leaves played important role in leaf head formation. There were twelve inner leave...

10 Influence of Graft to the Content and Distribution of Nutrient in Eggplant Fruit
Yang Yu;Zhou Baoli;Wang Wei;et al.
he content and distribution of protein, VC, dissoluble-sugar in eggplant fruit were studied with Tuolubamu as stocks and Xi’anluqie as cion. The results showed that the content of protein, VC and water in the fruits with grafting were more than that of control, except dissoluble-sugar. The distribution of main nutrients in the part of fruit didn’t change. Nutrients content of the endocarp were higher than that of the epicarp, which was different from the variation between top to pedicel of the fruit. The c...

12 Studies on Tissue Culture and Artificial Seeds of Brassica oleracea L. var. gemmifera Zenk.
Shen Ying;Xu Cheng;Zhang Ming
The paper described the plantlet regeneration of Brassica oleracea from its hypocotyl and production of artificial seed with young shoots. The results showed that the hypocotyl segment from 8-day-old seedlings was the best for inducing adventitious buds and the averaged propagate coefficient of buds was 11.3. 6-BA and ZT significantly promoted to (inducing) adventitious buds, and the propagate coefficient was 11.2 under the 2 mg·L~(-1) of 6-BA. The adventitious buds were encapsulated with a sodium alginate ...

15 Evaluation of the Baiting Methods for Detecting Phytophthora capsici from Soil
Li Haiyan;Zhen Yan;Liu Tiruo
By comparing the three methods of soil dilution , stem burying and leaf baiting, the veracity and maneuverability of detecting Phytophthora capsici in soil were studied. The results showed that using the leaf disk as bait could not only isolate P. capsici from soil quickly, but also estimate the amount of live pathogenic fungi. And the disease index on the capsicum seedlings of the same year could also be predicted. Among the eleven plant leaves, Chenopodium glaucum was the best according to the baiting abi...

19 Effect of Dicyandiamide on Nitrate Accumulation of Vegetables Grown in Bagasse Substrates
Huang Xingfa;Gu Minghua;Shi Baofeng;et al.
The effect of dicyandiamide (DCD) on nitrate accumulation in flowering Chinese cabbage, spinach, lettuce, Chinese cabbage were investigated. The vegetables were cultured in bagasse substrates and DCD was applied to the substrates 20 days before harvest. The result indicated that nitrate content was reduced by (24.9 %), 27.1 %, 39.1 %, and 41.6 % in the four vegetables respectively, while the yield and quality were not affected significantly.

Zhang Libin;Wang Zhihua;Xu Hualing
Yansun No.1 is development by crossing female parent 96-4-6 with male parent 96-2-4, which are selected and acclimated from asparagus resources introduced from the USA. It has high salt-tolerance, giving a yield of fresh sprouts over 6.0 t·hm~(-2) in its 3rd year and over 7.5 t·hm~(-2) in its 4th year, in a field with soil salt content of (0.2 %)-0.8 %. It grows vigorously with a well-developed root system. The young sprouts are straight with even thickness and compact-round tips. It is also resistant to st...
