0 Effect of Low Temperature on Root Growth and Physiological Characteristics of Chilli Pepper

Root morphological and physiological characteristics were studied by using different pepper varieties at different day/night temperature.The results showed that the total root length of three varieties decreased with temperature decreasing.The root diameter increased at early stage and then decreased.The root volumes of Sujiao No.5 and Bianjiaoxinshengdai had the similar trends with the root diameter and their root activities increased,while both volume and activity of root of Suchanghong decreased.The valu...

0 Evaluation of Insecticidal Activities of Crude Toxins Extracted from Symbiotic Bacteria to Plutella xylostella and Laphygma exigua

Twenty-eight highly virulent strains of symbiotic bacteria were isolated from 28 entomopathogenic nematodes in the soil samples collected from different regions of China.The crude toxins were extracted from the 28 symbiotic bacteria strains.Bioassay results showed that all crude extracts had virulent activity to the first instara of Plutella xylostella and Laphygma exigua to some extent,among which 5-5B strain was the best one.The average corrected mortalities to P.xylostella and L.exigua were 100 % and 68....

Growth of field trial of test-tube plantlets and vitro corms of taro was introduced in this paper.The results are as follows:The test-tube plantlets grew faster than general seedlings from late June to mid-July.In mid-July,the general seedlings grew faster than test-tube plantlets from late July to early August.The vitro corms could increase yields of taro with multi-corms and multi-head,but the yield of Covovocasia anlingwoym(L.)Schott decreased.Mid-size plantlets were recommended for planting to field.

Lujian is a new early bitter gourd F1 hybrid developed by crossing two inbred lines 1252 and 1241 from abroad.It has high rate of fruit-setting.The fruit is cylindrical,green in colour with straight wart,30-40 cm in length,5-7 cm in diameter,1.0-1.3 cm in flesh thickness.Average fruit weight is 500-700 g.It has stronger resistance to downy mildew,powdery mildew and Fusarium wilt than Youlu No.1.It yields 37.5-45.0 t·hm-2.It is suitable for cultivation in south China in Spring and Antumn.
