Studies on Soft Rot of Allium Chinense G.Don

Soft rot in Allium chinense G.Don is caused by Erwinia carotovora subsp.carotovora.The preliminary infection sources are diseased bulb and pathogen contained soil.The bacteria infect host plant through wound and then cause the tissue rot,even death.Artificial inoculation results showed that the bacteria could infect 14 plant species belonging to 7 families.This disease could be effectively controlled by using 24 % Streptomycin,25 % Bismerthiazol and 45 % Ambam at the initial infection stage.

Comparison of Pakchoi Variety for Stuffing

The experiment on comparison of 9 pakchoi varieties was carried out in summer.The results showed that Wuyueman and Huoqingcai had big and high plants and high yield,but with low filling rate and high water content;Xiaguan and Jingyou No.1 had thin,small plants and low yield;Jingguan No.2 had high bolting rate;Kangre No.605 had low disease resistance.Therefore these varieties are not suitable for stuffing cultivation in summer.Shulu,Jingguan No.1 and F-143 showed moderate plants,high yield and filling rate,a...

A New Chinese Cabbage F_1 Hybrid —‘Jingqiu No.65
Zhang Fenglan;Xu Jiabing;Yu Yangjun;et al.
A new variety of Chinese cabbage Jingqiu No.65 was bred by crossing two self-incompatible lines 85(2-289)and Qinda.It can be harvested in 65-70 days after sowing.The average head weight is about 3.6 kg.Its yield is about 97.5-112.5 t·hm-2.It is resistant to virus,black rot,and mid-resistant to downy mildew.It has been extended to Beijing,Shaanxi,Ningxia,Shandong,Shanxi and Xinjiang.

Fenda is a new indeterminate tomato F1 hybrid developed by crossing two inbred lines Wqin5 and 94yin20hou.It is mid-early maturity,and grows vigorously.Average fruit weight is 184 g.The yield is about 120 t·hm-2 in protected field cultivation in spring,and 300 t·hm-2 in long season cultivation.It s suitable for cultivation in protected field in spring and autumn and solar-greenhouse in Henan,Anhui,Hebei,Shandong.

A New Bitter Gourd F_1 Hybrid —‘Chunshuai

Chunshuai is a new bitter gourd F1 hybrid developed by crossing two inbred lines ZG008 and G04-4.It takes about 75 days from sowing to harvest.The first female flower starts from node 10-12.The average fruit weight is about 400 g.Its yield is 51 t·hm-2.It has stronger resistance to powdery mildew and epidemic disease than Changshahaishenkugua.It is suitable for clutivation in open and protected fields in early spring in the Yangze River valley.

Exigua No.12 is a new red flesh seedless watermelon F1 hybrid developed by crossing tetraploid inbred line W4-48-3 with diploid inbred line W2-38-42-1.It is mid-maturity and takes 35 days from flowering to maturity.The fruit is black green rind,bright red flesh,round with 11 %-12 % of center sugar content,the rind is about 1.2 cm thick.Average fruit weight is 5-7 kg.The yield is about 37.5 t·hm-2.It is suitable for cultivation in Hubei.
