12 Effect of Cadmium on Growth and Residue of Zizania latifolia
Huang Kaifeng;Yang Kai;Jiang Jiezeng;et al.
Changes of some physiological and biochemical indexes and morphological indexes in leaves and roots of the Zizania latifolia were studied on single-harvested cultivar Jiangshujiao and double-harvested cultivar Fenghongzao cultured in soil with different Cd2+ concentrations. The Cd2+ concentration were 25,50,100 mg?L-1 stress. The Cd2+ residues of Zizania latifolia galls were also determined. The results showed that, some physiological and biochemical indexes in prophase and metaphase of tillering stage and some morphological indexes in anaphase of tillering stage represented that their growth were promoted when in lower concentration of Cd2+ stress and restrained when in higher concentration of Cd2+ stress. When concentration of Cd2+ stress was 25 mg?L-1,Cd2+ residues of Fenghongzao were higher than national maximum residue limit. However, the Cd2+ residues of Jiangshujiao gall were lower than national maximum residue limit of nonpollutant vegetables when the concentration of Cd2+ was 50 mg?L-1.It indicates that Zizania latifolia has a high tolerance to Cd2+ stress and there exist big differences between cultivars.

15 Studies on Drought Resistance Identification and Its Evaluation Method for Tomato Seedling
Zhang Liying;Chai Min;Jiang Ligang
n order to establish an effective evaluation method for testing tomato drought resistance, different tomato varieties(lines)were tested under extreme dry conditions with sun covered and uncovered treatments to screen their drought resistance.Through comparative analysis,an effective method was found for drought resistance identification. In this method, seedlings were planted in earthen bowl filled with nutrients, treated with extreme dry soil under intensified sunlight but with coverage.24 highly drought resistance and 59 drought tolerance materials were screened from 139 tomato materials by this method.

21 Elementary Studies on Influences of Grafting on Aromatic Compounds in Muskmelon
Qi Hongyan;Wei Min;Liu Yuan;et al.
Headspace solid phase microextraction(HS-SPME)method was used in the experiment to study the effect of grafting on the aromatic substances in the juice of melon fruit of Yumeiren and Yongtian No.6.The results indicated-that 40 kinds of aromatic components were gained by using GC-MS online search.Among these compounds, there were 32 kinds of esters, which were the important aroma components accounting for over 70.14 %-95.77 % of peak area. The total aromatic compounds and characteristic aromatic esters contents were decreased in grafted melons than the own-rooted melon. The delightful fruit aroma were lower and the aroma of fruit were thinner in grafting melon than own-rooted fruit to a certain extent.Meanwhile, the aroma components of melon were altered because of grafting. However, the effect of grafting on aroma components was different according to varieties. The total esters content in Yongtian No.6 was obviously lower in grafting melons than own-rooted melon, but it had little effect in Yumeiren.

25 Effects of Calcium Deficiency on Growth and Nutrition Quality of Bunching Onion
Liu Weiping;Chen Riyuan;Sun Guangwen;et al.
The effects of calcium deficiency on growth and nutrition quality of sandy grwon bunching onion(Allium fistulosum L.var.caespitosum Makino)were studied in this expriment. The results showed that the rate of tipburn increased while calcium concentration decreased. The growth of the bunching onion was inhibited by calcium deficiency. With calcium decreasing, concentrations of chlorophyll and carotenoid in leaves, root activities, concentrations of allicin and soluble sugar of bunching onion decreased, while VC concentrations increased. The soluble protein concentration was the lowest while the pyruvic acid concentration was the highest at 40 mg?L-1 Ca level. The flavone concentrations in leaf increased as calcium decreased, those in false stem of were the highest at 80 mg?L-1 Ca level.

28 The Effects of Temperature and Humidity Changes under Different Plastic Sheds on the Growth of Spring Chinese Cabbage
Zhang Shifan;Zhang Shujiang;Li Fei;et al.
This experiment adopts design for cracked section, sets up different treatments on small sheds and seedling ages, conducts data analysis on in-room temperature, soil temperature and humidity, etc.climatic factors, and compares the influences exerted by different sheds on growth, yield, tolerance to immature bolting of spring Chinese cabbage. The results indicates that plastic shed has remarkable effect in raising its inner day air temperature, but no distinct effect in maintaining its inner night air temperature.Compared with single layer plastic shed,double-layer one has better effect in maintaining its inner air humidity, but in respect of raising or maintaining air temperature, its effect is not distinct.Compared with no water-sack one,the double-layer plastic shed with black sack full of water can promote the day air temperature rising and slow the night air temperature decreasing.Plastic shed has significant effects in promoting the growth of spring Chinese cabbage and increasing its yield.Besides it can also inhibit the extension of main flower stalk in heads. In this experiment, the growth, yield and tolerance to immature bolting of spring Chinese cabbage under the treatment with single-layer shed without water sack are relatively better than the other treatments.
