1 Research advance in the toxicity and residue of plant growth regulator in vegetables in China
Xu Ai-dong
Toxicity, the present residual state and residue limit standards of several used plant growth regulator in vegetables were reviewed in this paper. Some methods of reducing toxicity residue, as well as suggestions of using plant growth regulator effectively were discussed. It was necessary to reduce toxicity residue of plant growth regulator and improve food safety in vegetables in our country.

7 Research progresses on molecular markers of resistance to Fusarium wilt in cucurbitaceae

The paper briefly describes differentiation of specialized form of Fusarium oxysporum, and summarizes the general techniques using in molecular marker research as well as the progress in molecular marker of resistance to Fusarium wilt in melon, watermelon and cucumber and other cucurbitaceae crops. The application prospect of molecular marker-assisted selection is viewed in cucurbit breeding.

11 Identification of seawater-tolerance spinach cultivar and selection of its form index

Exposed to 8 concentrations of seawater, 14 cultivars of spinach were investigated in solution culture in order to identify seawater-tolerant cultivar and select appropriate identification index. The results showed that the cultivar of ‘Helan No.3’ was tolerance, ‘Faliancao168 qianglibocai’has middle tolerance and the other cultivars were sensitive to seawater.The appropriate identifying concentration was 40%, and the relative value of dry weight, fresh weight, leaf area, survival leaf number were credible indexes for identification, but salt injury index may be also used as an identification index in range of certain concentration. However, relative water-content of leaf and root/shoot were improper indexes for identifying spinach seawater-tolerance.

18 Effects of Cd,Pb on seed germination and seedling growth of cucumber

Effects on seed germination,seedling growth and root morphology in cucumber were studied by treatments of Cd,Pb. The results showed that the seed germination indices,shoot and root fresh weight of cucumber decreased with increasing concentration of Cd、Pb.The total root length、total surface area of cucumber roots were decreased with increasing concentration of Cd,Pb also.the average diameter of cucumber roots were increased with increasing concentration of Cd,Pb under the low consistence, but were decreased obviously under the high consistence.The single effect of Cd on cucumber seed germination and roots was obvious than that of Pb.‘Yuyi201’ cucumber was more tolerant to Cd and Pb than ‘Jiangshulufeng’ cucumber.

23 Effects of seed soaking with PEG on physiology indexes in leaves of pepper seedlings under low temperature and poor light

The changes of some physiological indexes were investigated in seedling leaves of ‘Xiangyan No.1’ pepper under low temperature and poor light stress with 25% concentration of polyethylene glycol (PEG) solution seed soaking. Significant increases in membrane permeability, malondialdehyde (MDA) and proline (Pro) contents, decreases in soluble protein and dry weight of aboveground, dry weight of underground, plant height and stem diameter were observed in leaves of pepper seedlings under low temperature and poor light 15℃/5℃(day/night),100μmol·m-2·s-1. The SOD and POD activities increased and arrived at highest value on the 4th day, then decreased in leaves of pepper under low temperature and poor light stress.Compared to the control, the increment in membrane permeability, MDA and Pro contents were smaller, and the reducement in activities of SOD and POD, contents in soluble protein, dry weight of aboveground, dry weight of underground, plant height and stem diameter were smaller in leaves of pepper under low temperature and poor light stress with PEG seed-soaking. These results suggested that PEG seed-soaking could increase the resistance ability to low temperature and poor light stress of pepper seedlings.

28 Analysis on evaluation method for cucumber fruit bending and relativities

This paper takes 48 cucumber varieties as experiment material, and adopts cutting method to measure cucumber fruit bending degree. Through relative analysis, we find bending has very significant positive correlation with length、stalk length、stalk length/fruit length、fruit length/ fruit diameter ,and very significant negative correlation with cavity size、cavity/ fruit diameter and significant negative correlation with fruit diameter. But it is irrelevance with flesh thickness .According to fruit shape index and bending degree, the paper carries out grading on cucumber and selects 8 straight species and 31 bending varieties.

32 Isolated microspore culture and plantlet regeneration in yellow heading spring Chinese cabbage

Isolated microspore culture was carried out with 14 F1 yellow Chinese cabbage introduced from South Korea and Japan. Frequencies of embryogenesis, factors influencing the plantlet regeneration were studied. Results showed that genotypes had extremely significant effect on frequency of embryogenesis. The reaction of genotypes to growth regulators added in the medium was different. Liquid culture in condition of 40r·min-1 oscillation could promote the development of the embryoids.Optimal medium for shooting is embryoids was MS + 2.0mg·L-1 6-BA + 0.1mg·L-1 NAA + 3%sucrose + 0.8% agar.

36 Identification and evaluation of Benincasa hispida cogn. germplasm resources
146 Benincasa hispida Cogn. germplasm resources form Southeastern Asian countries and major production areas of china were identified and evaluated on their biological characteristics, quality, stress resistance and resistance to diseases during 2005-2007.Among them 1 germplasm resource had resistance to Fusarium wilt diseases, tolerance to Phytophthora blight and virus, 1 germplasm resource had resistance to Fusarium wilt diseases, and 2 had excellent quality.

42 Effects of controlled-release bulk blending fertilizer application on garlic yield、quality and nitrogen utilization efficiency

A field-trail experiment was carried out to investigate the effects of single basal application of controlled-releasing bulk blending fertilizer(CRF) on yield、quality and nitrogen utilization efficiency of two garlic cultivars:‘Cangshansuan’ and ‘Jinxiangsuan’. Results showed that compared to CCF, 100% and 80% CRF treatments could increase bulb yield、bulb soluble sugar content and SOD activity significantly by 5.0%-12.5% and 15.0%-15.8%, 3.5%-27.6% and 15.1%-30.0%, 48.1%-93.2% and 61.0%-68.4% for each cultivar, respectively. What was more, 12.5%-20.5% and 31.8%-37.3%, 86.4%-87.0% and 146.0%-171.5% higher plant dry matter yield and nitrogen utilization efficiency were also observed in these two specific treatments. However, 60% CRF application showed no promoting effect on the factors mentioned above. Difference of VC content between CRF and CCF treatments was no significant. Allicin content exhibited a negatively correlation with bulb yield. In order to ensure garlic flavor and quality, an extra S input should be performed together with CRF.

48 Effects of P and K fertilizer effects in tomato greenhouse in Shouguang city of Shandong province

The field experiment with '3414' design (CK,N0P0K0,MN2P0K2,MN2P1K2,MN2P2K2,MN2P3K2,MN2P2K0,MN2P2K1,MN2P2K3 and MN0P0K0) was conducted in Shandong Shouguang in order to investigate the effect of P and K fertilizer on facility tomato. The results showed that the treatment of MN2P1K2 got the maximum yield, which was 160.86 t·hm-2, 7.2% higher than the traditional treatment. In addition, P application on tomato had no effect or even decreased yield with high soil available phosphorus level. Appropriate organic manure with decreased phosphorus supply was an effective method to increase tomato yield.The effect of potash fertilizer was not remarkable in early growing period, so potash fertilizer should be supplied less in this period and later more in the mid-late growing period.

54 Effects of different copper agents on growth of chilli

Pot experiments were conducted to study the effects of spraying three kinds of copper agents: Bordeaux Mixture(BDM), Kocide2000(KCD), Bordeaux Nutritional Protective Powder(BNPP),on surface of chilli leaves with different concentrations. The results showed that spraying BNPP at certain intervals significantly increased the yield of the chilli, and two different concentrations of BNPP increased the yield by 74.7% and 26.7%, 59.4% and 15.6%, respectively, as compared to the control. Compared with the spraying concentration of 2 g•L-1,, the concentration of 1 g•L-1, received better results in the treatments. In comparison, the treatments with spraying KCD at different concentrations promoted the growth of chilli as well, though unparalleled with the BNPP. However, the spraying of BDM inhibited the growth of chilli in leaf area and the content of chlorophyl.

59 Initial research report on differentiation identification of the Chinese cabbage clubroot main physiological races

This experiment uses 4 specific antigens of Williams. A system(‘Jersey Queen’,‘Badger Shipper’,‘Laurentian’,‘Wilhelmsburger’)to identify main physiological races of pathogens from 15 domestic main disease regions of Chinese cabbage clubroot. The result indicated that, the clubroot pathogen in Liaoning Shenyang Xinmin Damintun, Liaoning Shenyang Xiyao, Liaoning Dalian Shuishiying, Liaoning Dandong Zhen’an, Shandong Qingdao Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Shandong Cangshan Xiaolin Village,Yunnan Jiangchuan, Sichuan Bi County, Jilin Wula Street Dongyao Country, Wula Street Old Street Country,Pear Town, the eleven areas clubroot are the 4 physiology race; Liaoning Benxi area clubroot is the 2 physiology race; Sichuan Peng state area clubroot is the 7 physiology race; Sichuan Xichang area clubroot is the 10 physiology race; Shenyang Agricultural University area clubroot is the 11 physiology race.

63 Colonizing of antagonistic bacterium B67 isolate on soil and rhizosphere of cucumber

Colonizing of B67 isolate marked with Rifampicin on the soil and rhizosphere of cucumber were investigated. The results showed that B67 could be colonized in soil. Population of B67 isolate declined with prolonging time and received 0 after treatment 31days. Cucumber varieties had not significant effect on colonizing population of B67 isolate. B67 isolates were detected in rhizosphere of cucumber and the population of B67 isolate decreased as time went by, while it could still be detected at the 20th day after the treatment.

67 Field drug effeicacy experiment for controlling Liriomyza sativae Blanchard in soft legume pea by several kinds of pesticides

The control effects of pesticides, abamectin EC, 0.5% cmanectinbenzoate EC, 2.5% beta-cypermethrin EC, 15% hlorpyrifos EC, 70% imidacloprid WG, on Liriomyza sativae Blanchard in soft legume pea were investigated in this paper. The results showed that the control efficiency of 0.5% cmanectinbenzoate EC of 1 500 times was the highest with control effect came to 89.5%,and 70% imidacloprid WG of 15000 times was the lowest with control effect came to 62.6%.

‘Jinghu No.12’is a new summer squash F1 hybrid developed by crossing two inbred lines 02-1-5-3-10-6-5 and 03-3-10-9-8-2-16.It is an middle-early maturing variety.The plant grows vigorously with more female flower.The fruit is about 22-24 cm in length,6-7 cm in diameter with light green skin,glossy appearance,high quality.It yields about 180 t·hm-2 in winter greenhouse.It is tolerant to powderymildew,ZYMV,WMV.It has demonstrated very good adaptability in winter greenhouse,autumn plastic tunnel in North and open fields in South.It has been extended to Beijing,Shandong,Gansu,Guangdong,Guangxi and Sichuan etc.

75 A New Tomato Cultivar —‘Yinghong No.1’

‘Yinghong No.1’is a new early ripening tomato cultivar developed by system selection.‘Yingtaohong’from Hotland as female with‘ペペ’from Japan as male.Its plant is indeterminate-growth type and its fruit is round,bright red,no green shoulder.The content of lycopene,soluble sugar,acid and VC are 46.8mg·kg-1,49.9 g·kg-1,0.58 % and 475 mg·kg-1,respectively.Its fruit is convenient for storage and transportation,owing to its thick pericarp.It is high resistant to TMV,resistant to rootknot nematode and high resistant to Fusanium wilt,tolerant to bacterial wilt in the field.The average fruit weight is 15-20 g.The yield is about 45.0-52.5 t·hm-2.It is suitable for growing in open fields and protected fields in most areas of China.

78 A New Eggplant F1 Hybrid —‘Ruifeng No.1 zichangqie’

‘Ruifeng No.1 zichangqie’is a new eggplant F1 hybrid developed by crossing two inbred lines‘Yanzhiqie’and‘Wangbu zichangqie’.It matures early and grows vigorously.The first flower is on the 8th or 9th node.Its fruit is clavate shape.Its fruit is 28-30 cm in length and 3.5-4.0 cm in diameter.The single fruit weighs 180-200 g.It produces straight aubergine with shining skin and excellent taste.It never browns.It has middle resistance to bacterial wilt.The yield is about 67.5 t·hm-2.It is suitable for cultivation in open field in spring or autumn.
