Abstract：Tongyan No.3’is a new hot pepper F1 hybrid developed by crossing self-line 97-3 selected from local‘Heikezhaojiao’in Nantong with self-line 87-2 selected from the north of China.It is long lantern shaped with length of 10.8 cm，shoulder diameter of 4.8 cm，fruit shape index of 2.3，flesh thickness of 0.23 cm.The average fruit weight is 44.5 g.The yield is 45 t•hm-2.It is suitable to be cultivated both in protected field or after autumn in the middle and lower reaches of Yangtze River.
