Abstract：Total DNAs of thirty-six welsh onion cultivars were extracted from young leaves,10 random primes were selected in PCR.Eighty-nine RAPD bands were generated,of which 65 were polymorphic,with the ratio 73.03 %．The results of cluster analysis by UPGMA showed that the genetic distances between 36 cultivars ranged from 1.732 to 4.727.Three complex groups and one independent group were clustered when genetic distance coefficient was given as 3.883．Meanwhile a stable RAPD system of welsh onion was established．
