Abstract In our study, the genetic diversity in 26 luffa accessions were assessed via morphological and RAPD markers, and the genetic relationship among these accessions was revealed by hierarchical cluster analysis.Coefficient of variation based morphological traits ranged from 5.27 % to 107.00 % with the average of 32.75 %.A total of 200 10-mer random primers were used in this study.16 screened primers produced 145 extending and repeatable RAPD bands,of which 125 bands(86.21 %)were polymorphic across 26 luffa accessions. The average Shannon’s information index of RAPD loci was 0.325.The 26 luffa germplasms were clustered into 2 groups based on the morphological markers and RAPD markers by the method of hierarchical cluster analysis respectively. But the clustering results of RAPD markers are not identical with the morphologic classification.
