Abstract The development of Spodoptera exigua (beta armyworm) larvae has to go through 5 instars. They keep together to damage hosts until 3rd instar, then disperse and the 4th and 5th instar larvae make the most damage. The occurring peak of S.exigua is in August and September, feeding on many kinds of plants but mainly on vegetables and bean. Spraying 32%“Decisdan” and“Cascade” can get efficient control of the pest.
