Abstract Chunyu No. 1 is a new and eady-maturing summer squash F_1 hybrid bred by crossing vivid green skin summer squash inbred line 9795 Qing-2 with white skin summer squash inbred line 007-30-1-1. It has vigorous growth, and long rhomboid fruits with vivid white skin. Its yield is about 72 t·hm~(-2) under protected cultivation and 11.4 % - 14.3 % higher than that of Zaoqing Yidai(CK). It has been extended in Shanxi, Gansu, Hebei provinces.
